in upper levels, blm's have already switched over to mostly staves anyways, so it's a bit of a moot point >_<

But, the staves (at least before those elemental staves[ice staff for example]) really dont give you much.. Isnt +int better then +2-6mp? (or nothing at all for some..)

It's unfortunate, 'cause some of the staves look cool on tarus >_> I hate wands, unfortunatly you need the +int, especially at my level (blm is level 16 right now, rdm is 30. I use wands on both, but on rdm it's mainly for enfeeble sticking and +mnd for cure 3. For BLM it's for more spell damage).

Are staves pre-elemental staves worth having or should you just stick with wands till the elemental staves?

Stupid that monk isn't on that. I mean hell, they're EX in staff (no one is SP in Staff), and they can't use the best staff weapon? Neither BLM or SMN are EX in staff. Guess I'll be stuck with Eight-Sided Pole for Retribution, when the time comes.

ah but you see, thats a very special weapon. monks have their very own with specialized weapon skill (final heaven!). black mages and summoners finally get something to call their own, thank god. til now, we have been the absolutely most gimped meleers (not that we need to melee, but its nice to get it out of the system occasionally). its our hexa strike ^_^.
