Nuke w/ Threnody

I haven't played BLM myself so I don't know it firsthand, but when you PT with a BRD why not try to nuke according to whatever Threnody debuff is in effect? The BLM should know the elemental weaknesses of the target mobs in the area, so try to plan ahead with the BRD the order of nuking, so it'll go something like Fire Threnody -> Fire -> Ice Threnody -> Ice...etc. Each Threnody takes only 2 secs so it won't slow you down too much. All too often the BLMs I know just go ahead and nuke in sometimes random order. I try to sneak in a threnody when they begin casting but for something fast like Aero or Fire this simply isn't possible. Given the 24 sec recharge time on ALL BRD songs it's important not to waste the first few threnodies as the fight begins. Just a suggestion.

I've only partied with one higher level bard on my server, Dreox (who's pretty good too). He was constantly going back and forth refreshing songs etc. and backup healing, so it was kind of hard to keep using different threnodies every nuke. He would Fire Threnody before the Lique-Fusion renkei to up my MB damage, which I think was the best use anyway. Between Firaga/Water II/Stone II/Blizzaga it's kind of hard to keep in sync with threnodies while the bard is keeping songs up and helping the WHM heal.

I also usually choose my spells dynamically depending on the situation, and with all the scrolling text in the log it's hard to keep communication with the bard while they're busy doing everything else.

Oh and to all bards, we like Learned Etude . I had an additional +6 int during that PT from food and the etude, was really nice.

Threndy is highly effective it reduces the chances of having poor damage dramaticly. You need to like WS chains talk with the bard before hand and give him your spell order and follow the rythmn also the burn, shock etc stack nicely with the Threndy effects.
