  • Warping!

    Can anyone explain warping for me.
    I didnt even realize BLM had this spell.

    I saw at lvl 17 they can warp....
    But it that just to warp themselves or can they warp anyone>?

    Getting around van' diel is hard enough.... but if I could ask a BLM in the area for a quick warp home thatd be a big help.

    If BLM cant.... any kinda suggestions besides walking?
    (ex. your lvling in selbina and want to go to home point... No chocobos near by so.....)

    It only warps the person who casts it to their HP(Homepoint)

    Warp II however warps the target to their HP

    To take the walking and chobi options out the other idea is to get Scroll of Instant Warp frm the guards at your home town to warp to your HP

      I knew the guards had those but I couldnt figure if it was for a BLM/WHM to learn the spell or was something else.

      Are those just some item you can only use one time and then have to get another or do I always have a warp home?

        You can only use the scrolls there once and then they disappear, and any job can use them...

          The WHM Teleports are much nicer though, a WHM can teleport his entire party to the different crags.

            Well, At higher lvls of course, but im still pretty low and asking for extreme amounts of help are a little out there.... I'll just have to walk to bastok and get my scroll. ^^

              Well Tokiki was right.

              But I am going to add escape to that little list. I really is a life saver.

              (For those that don't know. Escape lets you Escape with your party from a dungeon. Really good for a couple quests)

              Though Warp II is a big plus. Really good to have.

                Is Escape an Item I can pick up or a specific skill of one of the jobs?

                  It is a blm spell. Really good to add to your collection at 29.

                  Though you can get a Scroll of Warp. That worps you one time to your Homepoint. I prefer. Warp II though. It is really good for parties. Basicly the same thing as Warp but it does it to the entire party instead.

                    Escape is a mid-lvl BLM spell

                    Here's the spells effecting travel that I know of

                    Warp - warps caster to home point (BLM 17)
                    Warp II- Warps target (pt member) to home point (BLM 40)
                    Teleport (where) - Teleports pt to the associated crag (WHM 36)
                    Escape - Teleports pt out of dungeon out exit closes to major town. (BLM 29?)

                    There's also a 70something bard song that gives you chocobo speed.

                      Warp will indeed transport selected members of your party.

                      Escape works as people have described. Like all party spells, it only effects party members within a certain distance of the caster. But when Escape is used in emergencies people sometimes will panic and run out of range if they don't know it's being casted. :sweat: So make sure your party understands how it's used, many new NA players probably haven't seen it yet. Escape is good for much more than just quests.

                      The WHM teleport spells start at level 36 for the basic three. Three more come later: Altep and Yhoat at level 38, and Vahzl at 42.

                        I'm sorry Calianeri ... But you are wrong... Warp II can target anyone and only used on 1 person at a time... I have a level 62 BLM friend and warp II was good for doing quests together when I was DRG

                          I don't wanna call you dumb, but when correcting a BLM about spells he HAS and HAS USED.. perhaps you should have done so yourself.
