  • How can I level from 7 to 10 as BLM in Windurst?

My main job is White Mage (level 18), and I'm trying to get my subjob (Black Mage) to level 10 or so, but it's taking a very, very long time.

I'm based on Windurst (the Sarutuabarta's)...

What kind of monsters should I be fighting or what should I be doing to level up quicker?

Well Im a level 8 Black mage, and I've just been hunting Easy prey at my convienience. Its take a bit but It gets the job done, plus its a hell of a lot safer. After I hit level 9, Im sure I'll have to move, so Im gonna go ahead and second your question, where should we go?

      BLM hunting spots

I leveled my BLM sub from 9 to 10 at the entrance to canyon. I hunted decent and even mobs. I stayed away from saplings as they seemed to break bind much quicker than the bunnies did. As long as you don't go too far in you don't have to worry about any goblins.

You can get in a party and head into Tahrongi Canyon. You should be able to tear through a lot of the stuff in there. You can do it solo too, but it will be slower.

I think 9-11 are often tough levels for both BLM and WHM. It's worse when you have BLM with no WHM subjob, however. My suggestion, boring as it may be, is to stay in East and West Saru and mass-kill easy preys and the odd decent challenge. Get signet, clear your inventory, and think of it as leveling combined with gil farming. Go after goblins, crawlers, yagudos, giant bees, carrion crows, whatever isn't too weak to be worthwhile and has good drops/crystals. Often the areas around towers are good spots (like the north tower in East Saru). Or head into the towers themselves for some goblin-bashing.

Hmm... Leveling as a 7-10 blm. It isn't that hard. Just go into Tahrongi and don't go to far in. You could also go into the Goblin Ruins. It is a really good place to lvl, at the lvl. I would say that getting into a party might make it easier. I have a 18 blm. I actually have to go back to Windhurst from Sand Oria to work on my Whm/rdm I need to get them stronger. I think that it will make me better.

I will say that another thing you could do. You could go to Gedius, if you go there and don't go to far in, you should get some good Exp there.

The best place that I can actually think though. There is a really good place in Giddus. I would have to show you that place.

I have to find out what Server I am on, if I find out today I will come and let you know. If it is the same one as you I will show you a couple good places tomorrow.

Though, get your Spells up high before you go to Giddeus or Tahrongi.

To be honest it is a bit of a bitch to lvl a Blm by yourself. It gets annoying.

Well, after getting 500 xp after 4 hours of playing (lots of deaths, etc) in the Windurst/Canyon area, I've decided to walk back to Selbina (San'doria) and try soloing worms in the plateau.

It seems like they would be amazing xp and BLM's can solo them very well (espicially a taru blm/whm with lots of mana, heh)

Hopefully it works out better than Windurst did =(

If I went over how many times I died in Windhurst Area before, I learned what I should fight and what I shouldn't fight.

You would all look at me in amasement. I think I have the record for the most deaths on one single lvl, I died 24 times on 13. Don't ask me how, I had some really shitty parties and all I remember is that one time.

I died by the party not having any healers and I was over casting. Then another I died. I was fighting a Dhalmel by myself and 2 of my spells didn't cast. Which surprisingly I could fight a dhalmel by myself at 13.

It was sometimes hard. But I had some easy ones. I would recommend that for anyone else though. I was alot stronger then most Blm's at my lvl. I had my Weapon Maxed and I also had my Elemental maxed. My Dark was Maxed also.

I really liked that it was really fun.

Though to think about it. The area around Sand Oria, is probably a good area. I haven't been to Bastok enough. I went there once. I have been in the Sand Oria Area for about a week.

                Selbina kicks ass.

I will say this if you are 10-20 and get into a party or a party and an alliance. You will make really good Exp in the Selbina Area. I was kicking ass with a party the other day. I picked up 2 and a half lvls in about 5 hours. I was like hell yeah.

But it was a really good party everyone knew what they were suppose to do, and everyone was working hard on there job.

The nice thing though, is that we only had 1 whm, 2blm, 2 warriors and half the time we didn't even have a 6th person and when we did it was either a thief or a whm. But the second Whm was only in the party for about 10 mins.

                The thief was kickass though.

Man, I will say this. If you can try to get your Sub-job items before you get to 18 try to do it. It makes everything alot easier. I had all mine by the time I was 16 so when I hit 18 I just went and had my Sub-job activated and then I went and changed to my Rdm.

Though you know what. A really good place to lvl, that I just though about is the Ruins at the Bottom, of East S. There are some ruins down there they are pretty good to lvl in at that lvl.

Another one is the Cat Burler's hideout, one. That is a really good one. That is the oen with the Cardian's in it.

You could also get a party and go to. The Maze. Really good place to lvl at.

I actually have to go back there tonight and do the forth mission I forgot to finish it earlier.

I second staying around the goblin tower. Just watch out for the buggers as they can be a bitch if your buy yourself. Oh and if you team up with someone make sure they are fighting for xp and not gold like me. I was pissed off fighting easy prey with this fag. Anyways go after decents and you will be lvl pretty quick....for a BLM that is .

stay in e and west saru till you get to 9 or 10. hunting the yagudo near the taronghi entrance are still DC for 50 or 72xp per kill.

when u get to 9 or 10, head directly to shakhrami, the lvl 11's and 12's there will usually welcome a low level nuker if you know how to fight worms. even with the xp hit ur getting 180-200xp per kill.

i went to shakhrami at lvl 9 and currently lvl 12.

                    hope this helps.

I actually ran to La Theine at lvl 8 with my Taru Blm.
I found that most of the mobs there were too easy and I was not willing to wait 1 hour per lvl.
Though it was not easy getting through Buburimu, the end results were much more rewarding than staying in Sarutabaruta.
La Theine has Rock Eaters ( worm type ) which easy easy even/tough kills. I went from lvl 8 to 10 in under an hour using pineapple juice to minimize my mp regen so I could chain worms.
However, I would not recomend doing this if you are new to the game. With my previous char. ( hume M lvl 25 pld lvl 35 war lvl 30 rdm lvl 15 drk ) I had been in and out of Windhurst so I knew the area well.

                      Thats my 2 cents.

I killed mostly rarabs then giant bees near the entrance to Giddeus. Crawlers too.

I personally recommend W Sarb - a little east of the Starfall Hillock. If you're careful, you'll find a couple of nooks with 3-5 crawlers that always spawn there and lots of Giant bees/ Carrion crows. Juts beware the yags & the occasional Gob Digger & you should be fine. A great way for getting XP & stacks of silk thread if it isn't camped.

One more thing - in case you didn't know, don't cast on a crawler when 2 or more are close together... They link.
