MB and Hate

Quick question, does a Magic Burst generate as much hate as doing that much damage via normal spells? In other words, should a BLM be afraid that a MB will get him beat down?

No, the WAR or PLD or any other melee with WAR sub should be able to taunt it off you right after you MB. Unless you MB with ancient magic.

Sadly, during high end game the BLM has uncomparable damage and unless you chain nuke, it isn't nearly as hard gettting aggro if you're not the main damage dealer.

So... Thieves can do 2100 damage (is this is sneak + a powerful WS?) at high levels, and the most a BLM can hope for with his MP hogging spells is 1200?

Ugh... Ranger I can see doing that damge, they spend oodles of money to do it, but a Thief...
