Black Mage Alternative Races - Mithra vs Hume

I made a post about how I thought Hume's would make good Mages, but lately I've been noticing a lot of stuff about Mithra. Like, "Taru are the best but Mithra are second." and "They're right up there with Mithra" (referring to Humes). My question is, What am I missing? It seems to me that Humes have better stats for mage than Mithra do. The have equal INT but they have more VIT which would help in taking a hit when they need to and more MIND which helps with white mage right? Though I haven't played the game yet so I'm working off of statistics.

If any of you think or know one way or the other as to which is better please tell me. Like if the Mithra's agility and dexterity help in some way for mage. Because if they don't, then Hume's would have to inhernetly be better mages than Mithra as far as I can tell, since those are the only stats that Mithra have above Hume.

I've just heard a lot of stuff about Mithra being the best mages next to Taru and if agility and dexterity don't help with mage, then this must not be true.

Well I mostly played a Mithra blm/wht in the beta and well there not that bad. I can assure you though is that dex is completly useless... I was able to hit with my staff but I do so low damage it wasnt funny. I only got to level 20 but anyway you weapon skill is medium.

One thing I notice is the magic damage I did compare to melee we seem to be equal on that side and watch my MP alot more than compare to a Taru. Seem I rested alot more than I should. Most of the time I end up just using enfeebling magic to help melee kill the darn thing faster, so I only had time to cast one or maybe 2 elemetal spells.

To me hume actualy could be more usefull if you do the blm/wht combo since hume get to have more Mnd that is better for you white mage spells. Dex will always be high and to me seem it was being wasted away.

So in a sense Hume could be slitly superior to a Mithra if you only consider the attributes that boost you jobs.

That was my experience it's not much and at high levels can say if there would be big differences. I will say this some of those attributes for Mithra will be waste has a mage and to me it's a shame not to take avantage of them but they wont hurt either.
