What would be a good job combo for a nuker with a pet??help!
Im trying to find out what job class combination would be good at using magic and having a pet so you could also solo, or party if you wanted, i know its strange but im curious, thanks alot

Hmm. Summoner certainly comes to mind. Technically that's the closest to what you're asking about, a mage that can use a pet. However, it's tough to get the summons other than Carbuncle until you get level 60+. And some people don't think the Summoner job is as good or as useful as it should be (check the SMN job forum). No real ability to solo for XP, either, though it's rare for any job to get XP solo.
You could try Beastmaster as a main job and perhaps white mage as a subjob. Beastmasters charm monsters at even match or lower and can control them. BSTs can solo for XP at higher levels, from what I've read. Your magic skills would be quite limited, however. Not sure how black mage would do as a subjob for BST. I'd guess not that great, but I'm no expert, and one very high-level char in beta was BST/BLM. -
Group up with a beastmaster. best way I can go around and be useful...
