Black Mage? Or not.... I need help deciding!

Okay, this is what I'm thinking about being. Blk mage/ Wht mage sub. This would give me an HP AND MP boost, which will help my black mage spells, plus, its going to let me cure. The only thing I'm worried about is the hate factor, and also the conservation of my Mp.

I'm also worried about people thinking I'm obligated to CURE everyone, even if its only my sub.

I really love magic, and its the highest dmg dealer (or atleast thats what I heard)..

I know Blk mage and Wht mage's hp will be lower too, expecially since I'm going to be a LIl TaruTaru! hehe

Anywayz, if you guys have time, please post back, and give me some suggestions on what I should be for my main job and sub. *or just to comment, if I was wrong in any info, I'M so sorry*

Well first of all ranger is by far the most damadge dealing job in the whole game but is also the most expensive. Also people wont tell you that you have to heal them or you will not feel obligated to heal them because wht is going to be your sub job right? so you can pretty much heal them if needed. This way you can have a more broad selection of spells to choose from. But keep in mind that you will be thinking constantly about which to use, healing or dmg? blm/whm has also a responsibility to heal...
unless you are in those rare good party where healing isn't really needed

I understand the responsibility to heal, and I accept it. I just don't want it to be my ''Main'' perpose, I want blk mage to be, thats why I'm picking it as my first. I'm just really confused what would go best for a sub with blk mage? I would love some suggestions, and I thank everyone who has already said a few!

White mage is the best sub for black mage in my experience. You get good HP and MP bonuses, good stat increases, and the use of Divine Seal in addition to Elemental Seal. I know my WHM sub has helped me in soloing, it's helped my parties, it's let me help random people who needed it, etc. I've very rarely been called on to be a "main healer" for a party. It worked out OK, but I was happy to get back to nuking. Most people realize that a WHM sub is not a good substitute for a full WHM. But you will be expected to be an emergency healer, if you have MPs left and the party's WHM does not.
