Elvaan or Taru that is the question.

Um i've read that elvaan magic is stronger than tarutaru magic also, but neways elvaans are not suitable for blkmage but I agree with them as a dark knight and maybe a red mage or white cuz they will be able to HEAL more than what a tarutaru can, but The point is that they barely have enuff mp to be called a mage so really its a 50/50 deal, u can waste ur time becoming a tank and killing ur way through everything and become supportive in an active way, or waste ur time becoming a white/red magge still being powerfull as an ox and able to heal ur frens (or put more power to ur wepons) but i really dislike elvaans. They're like rich snobs to me lol:sweat: They have the most power and the best looking country which is very ridiculous n.n

It is just up to personal pereference, an elvaan mage works fine, a taru works fine.

actually it really does in about 2 aspects, the power of ur magic and the amount of magic u have its like they favor some races more than others!Game producers never appease with their consumer, they always do the opposite which really sux.I mean I pratically waited for this game 3 years, I basically fantasized this game into existence and now I find it to be dissapointing that how good I thought this game was is now not all as good as I thought.If I were to critisize this game would make a 7.9 with a one through ten scale Just for the difficulty of even being able to play this. (ew I sound like a smart girly girl lol) I mean like no one will want this game after they find out u need a credit card, maybe the FF fans but not someone like me then all ur gonna be stuck with is a flashy chatroom by Square-Enix which will get boring and fall in america. I'm starting to despite even bringing FFXI to america just because loads of ppl arent even going to be able to play for plain stupidity and I so went off subject But it does make a point.it would be much funner IF it weren't such an "PG-18" game (only if u have a willing parent/guardian or your 18 to play this game)

1) It's an MMORPG, you shouldn't be surprized about fees
2) FFXI is not the only MMORPG to have races better suited for certain jobs. You should be happy they let you be anything you want... plus it gives a challenge to anyone wanting to be a Galka mage, or a tarutaru melee.

Ey I'm not surprized about fees but take a look here there shuldn't be ONLY 1 way to pay that sux, and I like thhe chars I was just saying that Elvaan's suck at Blk mage and I don't rant I just talk to much OK, I'm a girl ya know!:mad: meanie...:p :angel: I love this game to death even though this would be my 4th FF game played I haven't even beaten any FF but #10 with the boss easier than the chocobo eater lol BUT I have like no way to pay for this fee and like how are ppl like me gonna pay to play..Its really really sad ja' know....to wait 2 years to become a newb after they have 3 expansions and the level cap will prolly be 200 and i'd be lvl 1 LOL()

On the race thing, Jei said it as best as it could be said.

On the payment thing, you have several options:

1) Most obvious, credit card
2) If credit cards are out of the question, gift cards
3) You can also wait and see if SOE releases Game Cards.

You can search for info on gift cards on the forums, since I don't want to explain it here.

Well if I'm able to play I'm going to be the Taru as my avatar because she is the character that looks the most like me in real life cept that my nose ain't charcoal and my hair is longer and I'm like 2 feet taller 5'4" I feel comfortable being the cute 1 also my look alikes with the different colored hairs would/should be my back up chars...Basically all the taru's with ponytails:spin: we would look so cool but all of them would be like men (irl)!

Enjoy your time in FFXI, and I doubt if anyone really cares if you like to talk(doesn't bother me). The major thing to remember is that you have to play as you want to pla, have fun.

like I hope these status affects like invisbilty renders u invisible to other players as well, cuz it will be funny sneaking up on pple late at night in FFXI as my ninga/ redmage lol! also my shortness will also confine u, also I'm concern about this on FFXI u have a CASTING and a RECOVERY time right, if so thats like really lame if u have to wait like 20 seconds between each fire attack:confused:

1) Yes invisiblity makes you invisible to other players too, but they can still select you.

2) Yes you do have to wait to cast each spell, and it varies quite a lot. Raise and teleport spells are the longest I've seen. The casting time is normal, think of it as a pre-animation... because even in FFX you had to wait for Lulu to prepare the spell before you could cast it. It wouldn't be fair, nor practical to be able to nuke a monster with Flare every 2 seconds because you would get insane amounts of hate, aswell as lose all your MP too fast.

Melee's have to wait to swing too, so it's not just for mages, and it's not something to frustrate you, it fits the design of the genre as well as this game in specific.

OH no I like how u have to wait, I just hope its not SUPER long....cuz that would be so like stupid! I be standing there for like 50 seconds then like someone would kill the monster and I would miss out on MY EXP.... and recover time stops u from using the spell over again but whats the point when u already have a casting time... so its like waiting 2x the normal mage would have ta... and they had casting times in FFV.. the would stand there chanting with their little cute 2-d characters..O.o :confused: is the recoverytime gonna be like that lil bar under their name O.O!
