Garlaige in the basement is a party xp spot and has been a serious pain for many BSTs. However, Garlaige behind Banishing Gate #2 is not a party xp spot.

It can be a pain to get behind, but once you're there the only competition you'll have is other BSTs (and possibly soloing SMNs). If you try it out, I suggest to bring a couple reraise gorgets, several stacks of food, and several stacks of anything else you use on a regular basis while xping. You'll want all this stuff because getting behind the gate can be such a pain that once you do get there, you'll want to stay there for a while. Some people stay there until lvl 60. I stayed until 58 and then moved to Ulegrand.

Ty, got a better location for 57th? The guide on this site says Uleguerand Range but the hairs are VT and repoped @ VT every time I tried. They would come upcharmed 2-3X in battle so I couldn't really fight to build tp to finish mobs off @ end having to change to charm gear/light staff. When they became uncharmed I had 2 mobs hit me for 80-100+ damage each hit bringing my hp down fast. Without tp to finish mobs off hp got scary low.

Guide suggests Garlaige Citadel and Crawlers' Nest too but I try to always avoid exp pt camp spots.

Well, I was lucky enough to get 57 out of the way before the MPK update so I did use the Dark Aspic pets. I tried Citadel once only to get a coffer key, and behind gate 2 is definitely a great camp because it's seculed from parties and bombs are easy exp. The hard part is getting back there since you need 4 people to open the gate, so when you go, plan on staying a while. Bring reraise items. The nice bonus from this camp is you are by several coffer spawns, so when you get a key (you will get a key if you exp here) you can get your AF while you're there.
