  • Duo spots 71-75

    Hello,

I'm often Duoing with another BST, but from lvl 70 we got few idea where to go.

At 70 Boyahda was doing "OK" (well less XP than solo in ifrit ...) XP, but from 71 really no idea where to go.

Do you have any hint ?

I am not there yet and I also have noticed high lvl duo material has been rather fuzzy. I suggest hitting up Tu'Lia at 71 or doing the CoP quests and get over to the new high level areas (Taznavian Archipelligo or something like that). I've also heard there are high lvl bombs in Ulegard range.

I feel many of the new high xp duo places will be in the new areas. If you find any good duo spots please let us know, there's a lack in the level guide on igns site. It starts getting bad at about 60 and just gets worse ( very vague).

I think you could try Ifrit's Cauldron at 71. Tu'Lia is not really doable until 72 as the Flamingos you'll use are lvl 72 to 74.

bring gear to differentiate the mobs; with full AF a 72 bird will last you 5mins of charm time.

Attowah antlions are 70~72 or so, non-aggro. Could try using them on the tough (to 75) Cave antlions that you can find burrowed there. The reason info on this lv range is sparse is because a) there aren't that many spots in the first place, and b) most people have learned to use resources like Vana'Mon to make their own decisions... Cookie cuttering it all the way just seems... yeah.

Gonna paste straight from my post over in allakazham:

          ---------------------------------------------------

I ran into the same problem as you a week ago.
          I was 72, Tu'lia wasn't accessible.

          So there's two options:

          1) Grind yourself to 73 and get to bibiki bay and kill goblins with tropical raras.

          2) Solo / Duo in Boyahda tree. Using Skimmer vs. Goobue in duo. I think you can solo here using flies vs. crabs, or mandras vs. flies / crabs, but I imagine it would be quit difficult with all the goobues and crabs around. If you're equiped with brass balls, you can try going to the lower level and use crawlers vs. crawlers, or crawlers vs. flies, but again, this place is party friendly so it might not work out too great.

Tu'lia xp is pretty good, using flamingos vs. jugs (flamingos are lvl 72-74, i've confirmed this, when i was there at 73, some were DC, and all the Ts that I killed gave 130xp, meaning one lvl above me.)

Bibiki bay is the new bst haven for 73-75, solo/duo. Duo here is the best in terms of xp, better than any other point from 1-73, thats how good it is. Using rabbits vs. dhamels, things just work out so well, and they repop so fast, all you need is 3-4 dhamels until you can do a complete rotation.

Rabbits are 73-75 ( i think they max out at 75, but i haven't confirmed this)
Dhamels appear to be 77-80 (its possible that they can be 78-80)
Goblins here are around 72-76, then the anglers are probably 78-80 like the dhamels.

But getting to 73, this is gonna be a grind unless you duo for hours in boyahda, or spend 3-4x that much killing dc-t bombs in ifrits.

In anycase, once you get 73, you will not need Tu'lia access to get to 75. This in itself is enough to pay for the expansion.

          ------------------------------------------------------------

A few corrections: Tropical Rarabs are definitely 73-75 (perfect pets, btw, they got this new special called "Wild Carrot", the 1st time you see it in action, you are gonna drop at how hilarious the animation is ;-)
Dhamels: I'm almost 90% certain they fall within the range of 78-80.
Everything here seems to repop within 5 minutes, be prepared to fight for your dhamels as it seems to be the new hot lvl spot for parties from 67-71.

For bst merit points, grab yourself a partner when you're both at 75 and just kill dhamels here, xp is sweet!! Even match raras vs. t-VT dhamels, xp 120-200+ chains. And unless there's 2 pts here pulling dhamels, you will have almost limitless supply of giraffes to massacre.

Thanks Scary, very nice infos about Bibiky bay.

I have Tu'lia access, and already knew how to solo my way to 75, but sometimes i want to play with my usual partner to change a few, but at 71 i had really no idea where to go, solo is just better than everywhere else duo

Well let's wait for 73 and then we can try bibiky bay ^^

I'm not that high level with BST yet, but have been there with my PLD, but I'd like to ask since I am leveling up my BST..

Are the Tartarus Efts charmable at any level? I believe they are still Tough to my PLD71. I imagine they might go Even Match between 72 and 75. The reason I ask is that they are fairly tough and their attack delay is incredibly low (timing my cures between attacks while tanking these is a pain in the butt -- I almost hate these things more than Toramas). I can see how they could get TP very rapidly. Also, one of their special attacks is basically a Dispelga, another is a stun attack. I believe a third special is a high damage attack. The stun would be good against Catoblepas' Healing Wind. The dispelga would be good against Catoblepas' Whistle (Agility up). It's sparse enough in Bibiki that the AoE dispelga probably wouldn't likely pick up an add. I can see the efts taking down a dhalmel pretty quickly if they use berserk!
