Yeh thats kinda strange but kinda makes sense, due to the fact whm's are horrible melleers, they can charm something and let it battle for them. Subing BST doest affect what you can charm but how long they stay charmed, A Whm32 can sub Bst and charm the same pets a BST32 can but it would be slightly more dangerous because of low charm time. However since the whm portion of the job is at its full potential instead of being subbed, the whm has access to all sorts of early goodies a BST32 dont have, like stoneskin, warps, and regens. So all in all it evens out

reasons why I've subbed bst:
Other ppl's idocy:
20 crawlers at CN zone. What's the point of playing there? Only newbies lfg? No one lfg?
/bst and solo my way to next lv.
Farming:
I can farm really well as a thf/bst with TH 2 + wide scan and my own charmed along tank.
Exping:
Bst/war works well in parties.
War/bst works too. Many places offer excellent add on damage pets. Boyhada tree you can kick some serious ass with an extra pet. You take the exp cut but dang it's fun.
Skill up:
bst only can lv sword, dagger, club, axe, and scythe. And sword is really low cap.
I like my staff skill for use on the smn but I don't melee enough to keep it up to date. /bst and go lv up my weapon skill. Joining a skill up pt isn't always practical. Lots of times mages need to heal too much to even get to keep swinging. And usually ppl want to go somewhere with mobs that still con as IT to you. Missing like crazy is just too time consuming to try and lv up a weapn skill.
Same thing applies for trial weapons. Just use while farming. Joining a skill up pt is nice but I dislike trying to organize one where everyone has simular skill levels or where the tank doesn't need to be healed and I can just concentrate on hitting.75/bst, 60/smn, 51/rdm, 46/whm, 40/blm, 37/nin, 37/thf, 37/war, 32/sam, 25/brd, 10/pld, 7/mnk

Semi OT:
One time to death-warp from Rabao I changed into Level 1 BST/WHM, and Tried to Charm a Desert Spider outside Rabao.... and it worked. Granted it only lasted for about 2 seconds but I was quite shocked.
Also, Level 75 BRD/BST can charm DC~EM mobs pretty easily. If charm fails it's no big deal to lullaby and try again. I haven't leveled BST but I know of other BRD who sometimes go /BST to charm Flamingos in sky.

the question you gotta ask yourself is, Could a 70 BRD/BST Solo effectively on charming EM fighting T/VT alone?
you know what, i guarentee the BST is more effective
And thats the end of the "BST Sub" rant :DBST
