  • OK. What's that cool gear you guys are wearing in all the "OMG BST" photos?

All right. I'm about to be 60 in a day or two. Gonna be loving my AF, but at some point, I gotta be able to "fight in a group with my jug out".

I'm looking at all these 65-75 photos of BSTs here and there wearing this all black looking get up to group events, raids, hnms, whatever you call it.

Anyone care to give me a list of the basics for "kick ass" gear set?

Isn't some of that gear available at 60ish? Or low 60s?

I'm really an armor n00b and have no idea what the good melee's wear, and yes I'll use full AF for BST duo XP.

I just want to know what to look at for a party/DD role later on down the road.

    Hubarek? (whatever that is?)
Thick (gloves and pants or something?)

That's just what people chit chat about. Right?

I'm sure it's like 1 Billion gear per item.

Hauberk and thick set go together, hauberk is 2.3mil or so, rest of the set sits around 60-100k per item. You probably want an optical hat which is a pop nm, you need to kill a lot of hecteyes at specific locations then kill the nm in rankor den (sp?).

Typically most dmg dealers will wear the haubergeon which is lvl 59.

Because of the damascus ingot and other materials used to create it, the price is in excess of 1 million at least (server dependant). ;x From there, most seem to settle on the 'thick' set and hauberk, at lvl 68-69.

Fewer classes can wear that, but as bst can, it makes it a nice item. If you have a haubergeon you could probably sell that on to afford the hauberk. Unsurprisingly, the recipe for hauberk actually requires a haubergeon to make it. Prices seem to vary, but I think right now the hauberk is priced around 1.5 million on Ragnarok. The other 'thick' pieces are often all around 50-100k each, depending on server really. They emphasise atk and acc, at the cost of -evasion.

On top of that, I use royal guard collar, str rings, amemit mantle, assault earring, coral earring and lifebelt - for fighting that is.

      P.s I like pictures. :]

        Hahah I'm a deform BST.

You can get away wearing AF armor all teh way to 75, but along the way you'll earn mucho gils so you won't have problems affording haubek, and the Thick set is not expensive (50kish) but the armor, Haubek is the only one costly.

        My gear: /flex

Head: Emp pin.... (still need Optical Hat)
Neck: Spectacles (Peacock cost a lot)
Armor: Scorpion Harness (I could get Haubek but nah)
Back: Amiment mantle (I think I spelt it wrong)
        Hand: Thick Mufflers
        Leg: Thick Breeches
        Feet: Thick Sollerets
        Ringx2: Sniper's Ring
        Earringx2: Dodge earrings
        Belt: Life Belt

I changed to a better picture

Yeah I looked at some of the going prices.

Maybe at 68-70 some of the duo NM fights (for the nicer drops) will open up to me and I can gear up for "asskickery".

That or just run BCs over, and over, and over.....

That's the kind of informaiton I was looking for.

I'm in no rush, I just wanted some ideas.

            THX.

Very nice. I am going to start looking into that gear to hot swap when I get closer to 69.

                hmm.

                hand/leg/feet: thick
                body: cardinal
                shield: balance
                weap: rohar
                earring: assault and coral
                ring: snipers*2
                neck: coral
                head: panther
                belt: life

a bst friend gave me his hauberjeon and spiked buckler when he quit, so i occasionally use those two as well. kind of a waste though, since it's not like I do much other than lvl blm for the hell of it and fish nowadays.

just for show, /nin by 74 is more effective at 'dodging' even tho thats not technically dodging -_-;; i stacked myself once with like +40 some evasion, didnt really help much vs the crap i wanted to fight, IT's and stuff.
