AF chest

hello, i'm in a BST perma with two other people and we have just finished our cap and our next mission is getting our AF.

My question is, can you open the chest for the second part of the quest that is in Castle Oztroja with a thf, using theif tools?

If so can you open the chest with a lvl 15 thf, because we will escort each other to the chests if it can be done this way.

I did the oztroja chest as BRD and I got the item, so you can probably do it as THF. AF coffers on the other hand must be opened as BST.

my douce brother made me do his and from my experience.. (i'm pretty sure of this) for AF coffer chests you HAVE to use the job that you have the quest for..... (not sure if theifs tools will work for coffers) :spin: BTW took me 5 days to find that god damn coffer chest :sweat: but.. in the end it was worth it (for him)

I spent a day killing giants and looking for coffers.. didnt get any coffer keys and didnt see any coffer chests. We got a few treasure chest keys and found some treasure chests but no coffers. Died as well with the 2 of us one times.. went back to do a 3-3 mission with a full party, killed everything we saw and no coffer key.. :mad: I gave up for now since I cant get any help so Im just going to use my Combat axe for now and wait till i get a lil higher to solo the AF1 axe. My THF friend was lvl 44 and got aggro at the 10th floor so maybe i will have to go back at like 45-50. Also I HAVE to be the one to open the coffer? I cant have my THF friend pick the lock and we lot for it?

chest keys and the chest are what you're looking for not Coffer keys and chests ; ;

Doh!!! My damn LS insisted i needed the coffer set. AGGRRHH!!! DAMN IT. Now i gotta go back and god knows when i can find some more help. Gigas still check as ez and will aggro on the 10th floor. :mad: :mad: :mad:

there are not coffers in the tower that i know of

The way it works is if you get the item out of the coffer then you have to be on BST. For Helm, and Jackcoat this is the case, because you are getting the AF peice out of the Coffer right then and there. For Castle O, Crawlers Nest Coffer, AF1 chest, you can use thief to do this part because you are not getting the AF peice directly from these chests/coffers.

How high would your THF need to be to have a reasonable chance of picking these chests?

if you're in your 50's getting chest keys should be a doozey. Should be soloable enough; I did it with a bst friend of a similar level (we were both around 53), smashing yags left and right and spawning some worthless NMs that dropped worthless shields and such.
