Strategies and makeup of a 2-BST PT?

I plan to make a static 2 person PT with a friend of mine... basically whenever we're bored or something we'll bust out our BST and go duo things He is an Elvaan and I am a Galka... I was wondering what would be the best subjobs for us both? Do we both need to be WHM still, or since we plan to duo for the most part, is there a different subjob combo that might be ideal? Also, what strategies would be involved with said subjobs. I'm just curious because I recall reading about someone using a BST/WHM+BST/THF party or something, so I'm just wondering what other 2-BST combos are ideal.

Both Bst/WHM

First of all, because both of you will have prety low MP. If only one subs WHM , they will need to be like the main healer for both of you = more down time. With both of you able to heal yourselfs = less downtime = more chains.

Sure thief, or war, or blm sounds nice. But remember, we are bst's we dont like hate, we like our pets to tank. We dont want to do so much damage while pet is tanking.

Until lvl 35, 2 bst party is good, but not its full potentil, However you will still get good exp. The strategy is kill kill kill , everything in sight, even-very tough, and with good pets, Incredibly toughs. since its such a pain to wory abut pets dying, just keep chaining it takes more time to make your pets die, then to just take the cut and continue with the chain.

Thanks a bunch for the info, I was afraid of that (the fact that we'll both have to sub whm, that is).

However, my Elvaan friend already has a level 30 RDM... what would we sacrifice if I went BST/WHM and he went BST/RDM? I know he doesn't really want to level up WHM, since he doesn't have much time to play really. As for me, I don't plan to start this until I get 2 astral rings and other such +MP items (in this way I should have more MP than a hume of equal level with no +MP, seeing as how even humes don't get much MP from a /WHM). If he subbed RDM, he could take care of the enfeebles and also cure if necessary.. I can cure as well and take care of status ailments... what do you think? Or is 2 /WHM still just tons better?

Oh, and thanks for the advice about the mad chaining... that's helpful, probably would give more XP/time than waiting for both pets to die each battle. Whew, hopefully we get 35 soon :sweat:

yah, just...when in a pt of bst...and you have whm sub adn you are 50/25+...make sure you have 150 mp so you can raise your dead friend (cough)bigbirddneedsmorempsohecanraise.hesadamntaruandimaelvaanandihavemorempthenhedoes(cough)
