  • ‚Ü‚Á‚Ä‚ë/wait command. Worthless in a fight?

I *thought* it would be an easy way to kill off your pet if you used heel then wait commands before the pet coming back to you (and avoiding getting hit by the enemy if you've used debuffs) but when I tested it out, the pet just stayed in one spot and the enemy came to me, very disappointed.

So now I'm guessing wait command is used when say for example, your PT is linked so you tame the add and make it wait somewhere far, then releasing it?

    is that it's only use?
I really should thank you for it afterall it was your life that taught me the purpose of all life.....Purpose of life, is to end.

    I hate my life.

Heel is used for pulling i.e your in place full of agro you can use sneak and pull undead and they won't link use send pet to attack a mob then use heel and you will still have sneak. and you can run pass the undead mobs =P.

You can also /heel and /stay and get the mob to stay on your pet, as long as your pet has aggro....might not be the easiet thing at 15 but pets hold aggro better at higher levels.

I read, but havent tested, that if you make a pet /wait and then run out of aggro range, but dont zone, and charm breaks, the pet wont come after you

back way out of range then use heel, 95% of the time the enemy will finish off your pet and ignore you
Still trying to play way too much...

You have to be a moderate amount of distance away from the attacking mob to not transfer the hate. And even if the mob goes after you, if your run it around a bit it'll bounce back to your pet.

Quite funny seeing me running circles around a stationary Brutal Sheep with one on my tail.

something about brutal sheep... i was using the /heel then /wait commands to leave my pet and wait for charm to break so it could get it's health back... i had been doing it for an hour or so with the same damselfly... then some killed it while i was on my way back to charm it... so i got sheep... tried the same trick... i left the sheep on the beach... i went to selbina entrance was resting there... noticed that charm broke so i got up to look for a new fly then bam the sheep comes out of no where and hits me... i've done it a few times since then as a test... maybe it's a glitch with the Brutal sheep...

It may be because sheep track you by scent. Notice how Goblins can track you forever? But if you lose sight of a bug (like the Damselfly in your case or a Beetle) or another monster not really notorious for it's scent (my Snipper the other day ignored me when it uncharmed and was too far away to aggro), they won't come after you.

Hmm, I just checked my guide. It seems Sand Hares, Sheep and Leeches in the Dunes can track you by scent. So this trick won't work on them.

A lot of stuff tracks by scent I think. Scorpions and crawlers do, I believe.

Have had quite a few dhamels come after me even though I went quite far away and let charm wore off. Just homes in on you.

It should be easily remedied when you hit BST30/WHM15, because then you can cast Deodorize.

Yeah but when you get there, you're like me and can't wait to get to 40 and then 42, for Sneak and Regen, respectively.
