Most latent effect items and hidden effect items hint to what the trigger is by either the name of the item or the stats on the item or what jobs can equip it. I wouldnt get your hopes up about this item effecting songs in any way ^_^. Im just happy we can put something in that slot now.

Well I'm sure that singers shield triggers either with brd main or brd sub...but it's parry + 5 so I bet it's bard main

what i'm not liking about the elegant shield isn't so much its current cost, but the def. . . of the level 40 +- shields it has the lowest with a grand total of 1. . . unless it has some hidden effect worth noting this thing is trash compared to a level 10 shield =\ but it does look cool ( '-')b

Personally, I think the item looks nice and all, but not worth anywhere near that sort of cash. Since I'm now a firm believer in the usefulness of elemental staves, I can really only see wanting a shield if I'm meleeing with a dagger or sword or (someone save me) club.

For debuff purposes I'd rather use an elemental staff than a Monster Signa (CHR+8) or a Kard + Elegant Shield (CHR+6). For melee purposes it might be nice, but in that case I'm not too concerned about CHR or MP, and I'm more concerned about defense. In which case Genbu's Shield is far and away a better choice. And this shield is little better than nothing in that regard, except for another inventory slot of which I have too few already.

So I think I'll still wait until I can get The Shield (as it once was called), because I'm not very impressed with any of the others. Maybe I'll nab one of these for BCNM purposes if the price drops enormously, but otherwise ...

These shields should help us bards a ton on BCNM40 and G5 ^^

You could say that about any job, everyone can have decent equip or expensive gear, it's personal preference. It's arrogant of you to say bards are worthless and have cheap equip, if you were on my server, hey big deal, less work for me. No madrigal might change your mind a bit. Now on the cheap equip note Melody earring +1's went for 1mil when i bought my first set, signa went for 500k, 12 HQ instruments 200-300k, vermillion cloak 2mil, earth staff 350k, light staff 250k, wind torque 550k. So having good gear is just like any other job, if you want great stuff you'll have to pay the money. Get what you pay for right? On a side note THFs should be the last to complain about money, try farming without TH2 and tell me how much fun it is 5 hours later .

Either you're joking, you're bitter that Bards get invites easily, or you've simply never PTed with a Bard before, because we're far from being worthless -- anyone who's had experience with Bards can attest to that.

BTW, our endgame equipment is expensive as hell.
