Bard/White mage Combanition

Ok I'm a newbie not even close to getting the bard quest but before I get that high and get my hopes up I would like to know. Is a brd/whm good together or no? and how they help each other and if you have any pics of a bard I would like you to show them to me thanks for you time

BRD/WHM is about the best Bard combination for partying, although some would argue that RDM and fast cast provides more of a benefit. I wouldn't be caught dead without all the WHM only spells I get, and Divine Seal.

I like my Bard/WHM very much. The only complaint I have is the lack of MP, for I am a Hume. I have to use +MP equips and apple pies to have decent MP, 75 at lvl 17 with the apple pie. If your a Taru, you shouldnt have too much MP problems

but like Helltaru said fast cast hehe but i havent tested this my self since my rdm is only lvl 1 :sweat: :dead:

I used to agree with you but I have almost no +MP gear and at the end of a fight I *usually* have full mp. Maybe it is the level I am at but *most* of my parties mow throw mobs very quickly and I rarely have to help heal anymore.

I find it, that with a good WHM, the only time i really have to cure is when the WHM runs out of MP. I usually just sit back and attack along with the melee's. Let the WHM take care of the debuffs. I usually cast Light Threnody and Foe Requiem II on the Mob. When I hit 25 thou, i'll be a little busier singing Mage's Ballad and making sure the melee's have their bonuses.
A bard becomes really useless when a party is being Power Leveled. For instince last night my party was being Power Leveled and all I did was attack and sing Foe Requiem and the melee buffs.

BRD/WHM is the ideal setup, but /RDM is not without it's merits. The only problem with /RDM is that you have to exchange so much for fast cast...to many the exchange is not worth it. You won't truly understand how good /WHM is until you start fighting Hornflies that do numerous AoEs per battle...you can Divine Seal + Curaga the majority of that damage away, SEVERELY reducing the strain on the WHM. 20% faster casting time is trivial compared to that (to me).

And Bards aren't all that visually appealing. But if you want to see some of their stuff I think I can accomodate...just give me a little bit

EDIT: I don't know why, but it seems that some of the pictures (namely the 'done casting' one) look MUCH better if downloaded to your computer and viewed through good image preview program...maybe my comp just cached the picture as it was partially loaded or something, but it looks MUCH more blurry than the original on my computer does...

As a good bard you should be supporting your good white mage like curagas, bar-na spells or status cures. Even the best white mages run out of mp eventually (actually, to me how good the white mage performs is directly related to how good your tank is performing, even the best will run out of mp if the tank isn't well equiped or isn't holding hate properly)
