CHR = just raising singing skill?

Does Bard benefit amount from songs is based on CHR/Singing skill, where more CHR equals more singing skill like WHM with healing/MND?

And does anyone know exactly the benefits from instrument skill and singing skill?

Instrument Bonus increases length.

+1 Minuet will make Minuet Song longer (by about 20 seconds)
+2 Minuet will make Minuet Song longer (by about 40 seconds)

BRD songs are affected by Skills.

random made numbers for example (there is a direct relation as described but the formula used is made up)

150 Singing, no instrument will produce +15 ATK

150 Singing, with Wind instrument and 150 Wind Skill will produce +30 ATK

this is a reason why BRD sub sucks because most you can get at the same level will be 75 Singing Skill ~ +7 ATK.

CHR as far as i know doesn't really do anything but allows you to land songs on Mobs.

some say that once your CHR reaches a certain Threshold it will also increase Song strength.

CHR is only used for hitting mobs with debuffs. THAT IS IT. Nothing else.

The actual strength of your songs depends on your Singing + Instrument skill (Corresponding to whatever instrument you're using).

This is why +Singing skill is great (Affects strength of ALL songs), while +Wind and +String have slightly limited benefit (compared to +Singing... they're still good though)

Duration of the song depends on any +'s your instrument has, and if the song was partially resisted or not.

Might want to fix the Bard FAQ then:

Minne : Defence Up Song (Depends on CHR the amount of Defence Boost)
Madrigal : Melee Accuracy Up Song (Unknown amount of accuracy raise)

Charisma (aka: CHR) is a Bard's most useful stat. CHR determines how effective your song?s are, lowers the chances of your song's being resisted, and increases the overall effectiveness of your songs.
