  • delays and whatnot

Recently i've been noticing my new macro of:

    /song "Mage's Ballad" <me>
    /wait 12
    /song "Mage's Balled II" <me>

has only been keeping the "Ballad II" part and not the first ballad. I'm not sure why this is, but a gm recently told me that they are not supposed to stackNow i know i'm not crazy and that ballad I and ballad II have stacked in the past, but in the version change did they change this or is this GM just wrong or confused? or is it just a faulty macro? This is a huge question and many thanks to the king person who can answer it.

I'm assuming you have an instrument equiped lol.

Gosh, I hope this isn't the case. Will this be the case for Paeons, Minuets, and Minne's, also?

This may sound geeky, but...how about Ballad II THEN Ballad I. That way you get the most MP/Time posible, once again, dont mean to nit-pick.

Except that the second song wears off later, cancelling out any advantage. Additionally, singing the better song second means it is less likely to disappear if the person runs into range of a melee song. I religiously do ballad1 first, and will often deliberately miss the paladin with minuet or madrigal so he keeps ballad2. If I did ballad2 first, he would keep ballad1.

        My hotkey is...
/equip range "Cornette +1" (for the shorter range over harp)
        /so "Mage's Ballad" <me>
        /wait 12
        /so "Mage's Ballad II" <me>

And it is working and stacking fine as we speak (posting this on second computer while in a party).

I was having trouble with the stacking a few days back when I was powerlevelling a friend's thf from 13 to 15 in valkurm, but I haven't pinpointed exactly what causes it.

The only time that won't work is if you had just sung another song using an instrument with + to the song you last sang.

Because the +'s increase duration, it's possible to play Madrigal and Minuet, and then play both Ballads and come out with Ballad + Minuet.

That makes perfect sense and fits what was happening to me in valkurm~ Thanks.

that fits my description perfectly at all, so basically if i use madrigal + minuet (both using +1 instruments). then ballad using any instrument the minuet will overlap the ballad? i think SE needs to fix this
