Exp at 50+

I think the groups I am joining are going to the wrong places, ever since I finished limit 1 it seems like everywhere I have gone for exp, CN, Kuftal, GC, the exp has been slow. I don't think its the groups I am in as most of them have been an "ideal" setup. I had a l 60 SAM friend tell me yeah you need a lot more exp but the chains are 150 with zero downtime. While I am close to 53 it has been a real drag is it just cause the exp you need to level is so large? Guess I am going through exp/leveling withdrawl. :spin:

It might be a psychological thing, since the gap between each level is quite large at 50+, but I mean, if you're chaining a constant 150 with no downtimes, that's by no means BAD exp, but it obviously could be better.

Maybe is it psychological just not use to leveling taking a few days since I cannot play for more than 3 hours a day during the week.

Yes...as a level 62 BRD, I can safely say that after level 50, leveling up becomes even more of a bitch since you need SO much EXP to get to the next level...and it only gets worse the higher you go. My best advice is to just remain patient and persistant and you'll slowly but surely continue your climb to level 75.

I feel the same way, its just slow and I feel like bailing the party after a few hours.

Last night was not bad we were consistently getting chain 5 on robber crabs I was impressed just one night before that we were lucky to get chain #2. Weird but yeah I need to start doing other thigs besides leveling, the gap is getting wider and wider and exping all the time is driving me nuts, maybe I will dump some cash into crafting or raise fishing skill -- I have always wanted to do that for some reason. I think my goal will be 1-2 levels a week and then camp NM's or something else. I am currently 53 and when I get to 54 I will take a week off and do other things, at 54 I get to wear my hamburger hat and Jesters cape I believe.

Yeah I don't know what it is... lately w/ my set we've been nonstop pulling VT/IT and its still like a bit over 2k/2.5k an hour. I remember the times I've gotten 3k/4k an hour in the 40's and 50's and I've just never seen that since.

I was just talking to some coworkers, WoW will acually have an exp loss when you party for x number of hours, so they are dicouraging those harcore levelers. Interesting concept.

Me and my set were getting 6k an hour on rumble crawlers...now that we're all 50, I'm not sure where we are going to go though.

This is my first character I have had in the 50's so I cannot really say, I have been to a lot of new places with JPN and NA groups and I really cannot say any of them have been great. The best so far for me was robber crabs in Kuftal Tunnel at 52-53, I think that area is good until 56. But even with chain 5 on robber crabs exp was about 3k an hour which when u need 13k tnl sucks. Well I guess 4 hours is not bad... Just not used to this right now going through exp withdrawl.

Even though 50-60 is where the EXP gap begins to widen at a large rate, I never felt like leveling was a chore there. So much was going on with genkai and AF quests that I just wanted to level up to wear it all and it just seemed like it naturally happened. 60+ when you aren't looking forward to AF it gets a little different, leveling certainly becomes a chore at times but it's worth it in the long run.

BTW, I really enjoyed leveling up on kuftal crabs in the 50s, never had a problem with that area.

Garlaige Undead and Weapons work fine until 53-54, plus you can get your static their AF keys. Past that, Kuftal until 58 on Lizards, then Terrigan until 61-62. Davoi until 63 or 64, and then Onzozo on Toramas until you get sick of that.

Generally what I did, Boyahda was a waste of time until Steelshells at the upper 60's in my opinion. But your mileage may vary.

It may get tiring, but just grit your teeth and take it. 75 isn't THAT far away.

Break it up to, this weekend I got level 8 fame in bastok, sandoria and jueno. Was kind of fun too and made decent gil.
