  • Plotting out my bard

Now I am patiently waiting to save the money I need for the game so in the mean time I am planning my bard. So far this is my current plan tell me if it is sound or crap...

races is: TaruTaru( I think they sexy don't come posting this race is better then another crap please)

    whm to 18 sub blm
    blm to 18
    whm/blm to 37
    brd/whm to the top

that way once i start my bard I never have to go back to leveling the whm. it will juts always be maxed as my sub.

    ok fire away

    I would rather do:
blm to 20 (20 for chocobo, if you don't want it level to 18)
    whm/blm to 38 (teleport-altep/yhoat VERY USEFUL)
    brd/whm to the top

Reason being you can sell all your blm gear once you reach 18 and don't have to care about the job again, plus the extra mp of blm subjob will help whm real nice as whm is more important for PT survival. Warp is also very useful. If you feel like an extra day in valkurm level blm to 20 for chocobo, blm get PTs very fast.

      I did:

      1. BLM to 18, get sub.
      2. WHM/BLM to 40. Yes, I got the chocobo as my WHM, bad idea in retrospect ... and yes, I had an underlevelled sub from 38-40.
      3. BLM/WHM to 21.
      4. WHM/BLM to 42.
      5. BRD/WHM to 75. 35 so far, but the plan is to have that be 75 one day.

Tele-Vahzl was my WHM stopping point. Otherwise I'd have stopped at 38 for Tele-Altep and Tele-Yhoat. It's worth going the extra level past 37 for the two teleports.

Besides, your WHM gets Barvira, Stona, Banishga II, Haste, and Cure IV by the time you get Tele-Vahzl. Not a bad batch of spells, even if you'll never be able to use them when subbed. Helpful for farming or casting Stona when you pass people fighting Bloodtear Baldurf as you're farming.

If I have learned one thing from this game, it is that planning out your character is pointless. Sometimes you feel like playing whm and sometimes bard. Heck, I hate playing thf but had to level it when I had to farm items for gil. I started off lvling whm to 18 and than lvled blm till like 9, than whm to 30 w/e. The change in MP is gonna be unnoticeable. Unless you want warp at 17, i dont see any other reason for lvling blm pasted that. You can't use it as bard sub.

Went blm.. taking it to 18 whm to 37 bard the rest of the way. or so I think.. I always like to plan out and reseach my chars.. nothing like plaing a char everyone calls gimp or harrasses you for it. but I tend to look at what spells i "must" have and make sure i can get them when i need them.. same goes for equipment.. always learning and researching to make my char better.
