As a Bard, what equipment should I strive for?

I see Sam's wanting to get Haubergon's, mages who save up for Vermillion Cloak etc etc, but what super expensive/rare gear should a bard strive to get? I really want to know so I can start saving now, and have something to look forwards to owning. And please don't suggest monster signa, I mean other then it because everyone knows about it already.

Aside from the Signa, all the various +2 instruments, the only other things to buy would be Melody Earrings (+1), which are a big waste of gil unless you have 2 mil+ to just spend.

Serket Ring is another big one.

head: opo-opo crown (AF for melee)
body: minstrel coat
back: jester cape +1
waist: corsette +1
gloves: AF
legs: AF or luna subligar
feet: AF
weapon: kard (lvl68) or shellbreaker (lvl48) for CHR, a good dagger for melee
rings: +CHR or +MP
earrings: +evasion, +MP or +CHR

at 72 if you are rich you can go for the errant set or even the mahatma set (items in mahatma are 20 million and up)

errant stuff is pretty cheap, i guess the robe and boots are pretty much the norm for 72-75

chr+1 earrings aren't all that expensive. Chr+2 earrings are expensive. They go for around 600k a piece on rag I believe. And btw, ins't opo opo crown rare/ex?

No, opo opo crown is in the AH...but what good is it for a bard? I thought it just gave TP while sleeping?

opo-opo crown is rare/ex you cannot buy it. You are thinkng about the opo-opo necklace.

As far as items to look forward too-

For things that you have to buy-

Most of the HQ equipment listed above but also vermillion cloak which is pretty nifty but not a necessity. If you fight HNM and stuff like that maybe a wing sword or HQ wing sword would be cool since its one of the best swords bards can use that is bought.

As far as rare/ex items-

THis is where all the really cool stuff is- The dalmatica set would be the best of any cursed items for bard but is much much better for any of the other mage classes (no cursed armor is really all that great for bard)
- However some of the god HNM set IS pretty cool. the item i want most right now is genbu's shield which is the only shield bard can equip and is extremely badass for bards. It gives +10 evasion and -10% dmg taken.
- Also the sword dropped by an NM in sea serpents grotto that occasionally attacks twice is cool

nothing else is really that necessary or beneficial but what you look forward to is all dependent on your personal play style

opo opo crown has an ability where when you eat a banana, you get +50 hp, +50 mp and I think +6 chr. Also a wind torque is a very nice piece of equip. Goes for around 600k in rag.

Minstrel Coat, Kard, Star Necklace, Genbu Shield, Joyeuse, Luna Subligar and Opo-Opo Crown.

Theses are the items you should be looking for at high level. Most drop from NM. If you want more info on them, look at the database on Allakhazam.com

Getting a Signa is a royal pain in the tail...but it is worth it.

Shellbuster works well, too.

Personally, if I got a signa drop from HMT, I'd sell it...otherwise I'd be losing 100k per CHR.... although it would be nice to keep for leveling my BST.

My thoughts exactly, signa is a status thing and I am not saying that becuase I don't have it, anyone can camp it for a week and get it, but at 250k a pop on Fairy, if I get it, I am going straight to the AH. I could get 2 pigeon earings ^^ or a cape +1 which I think is +10 CHR, or heck all 3 depending on what those rings are selling for.

Lets do some math. Math is fun. All prices from Ragnarok.

Signa = 400k. +8 chr. 50k Per CHR (If you are passed level 48 you are paying 100k per CHR over shellbusters CHR boost)
Shellbuster = 4.5k. +4 chr. About 1.1k Per CHR
Jester Cape +1 = 160k. +10 chr. About 16k Per Chr.

While Signa is a great boost for the lower levels...I mean no other item can give you +8 chr at such a low level, I myself am not low anymore, and buying a signa for 400k at level 50 would be stupid, unless I had so much money that I can spend it without worry. I can see myself getting a signa once I am a very high level, and doing it just because I am uber rich and want to have the best of the best stuff. But how it stands now, if I camp signa, I'm getting a cool 400k.

A week? Only if you're lucky. Hoo Mjuu is camped 24-7 by players with the most insane claiming skills. Good luck competing with them. Even if you beat them to the punch, the Signa drop is not guaranteed by any means. I've seen high level thieves with Treasure Hunter II become increasingly frustrated with the task of finding a Signa.

If you do happen to get one, more power to you if you sell it...but I for one am keeping my Signa for a while. As a Galka, it helps A LOT as far as balancing out my +MP and +CHR equipment.
