The Best Wierd PT EVAH!

MNK/DRK/DRK/WHM/RDM/BRD, 63-64...Quicksand Caves

I know a lot of you will look at you and start laughing your asses off and call me a n00b...I personally questioned our leader's guidance when I was invited to this pt...He was Japanese and basically tabbed this out for me and the other DRK

(Enemy) (Death) (You can have this!) (Full Attack!) (Sic!)
(Skillchain) (No thanks) solo(Yes Please)
(Souleater) (Guillotine) (Yes Please)

By now me and the JP DRK are like "WTF?" and all the mages don't seem to mind this at all. So we get to the cave, MNK runs up to an ant "GOGOGOGOGOGO!" So me and the other DRK engage, we kick it's ass in 30 secounds...100 exp...I was shocked, the mages used maybe 100 MP total that fight...

(Chain)6 is our goal

This was the next thing our leader said, he then runs to the next Ant and engages, me and the other DRK follow, kill it even quicker, 120 exp...this continues for awhile until I noticed, we had no camp really, and all 3 of us melee were the "tanks"...I loved this pt...it was so fun, we could kill 3-5 ants at once and have np with it, constant chain 6's...4k exp an hour easly and we all lvled least once...

This pt was very unorthadoxed, but sometimes it pays to be different...my new fave pt:MNK/DRK/DRK/WHM/BRD/RDM, Quicksand Caves, 63-64 :spin:

Not very good exp per hour. :/ Expecially at that level.

That is usually considered above par exp rate regardless of the lvl. Try setting a one hour timer next time you when you go exp and record the exp amounts before and after for a more exact amount. What usually felt like 6k+ an hour turned out to only be about 4-4.5k an hour. When things are going well, your mind exaggerates and embellishes to you.

I always do that, and if I get under 5k an hour I'm dissapointed.

Much more to the game then EXPing...so when I EXP I want max efficientcy.

And the party-setup is not that strange, its just a MNK instead of a PLD,WAR or NIN.... (i also had a party were the MNK tanked, it was around level 40-45 though.. the MNK used MNK/THF lol)

Sic means attack, like you tell a dog to Sic...

also yes it's a wierd pt...almost every pt post 60 includes a main tank being a WAR, PLD, or NIN...we had no tank, at all. Whoever did the most dmg was the tank (and fair enough to say we all did our fair share of the tanking)

less than 5k an hour and your disapointed? wow, I wish I was on your server, usually pts here only get 2k an hour -_-;

I'm sure normal pick up parties are abad, you just have to know people.

i know most parties use tank role jobs to play tanks.. but if you use a MNK as a tank it dont mean instant death...

The only time a 5K hour could happen (+50) at least would be like killing IT++ in 30-50 seconds about nonstop. I would like to see that on paper/sc. A NIN/PLD soloing a Behemoth sounds less like bullcrap. Not to be rude, but I smell lying in the air.

EDIT: Let me rephrase that. The way you make it seem, getting 5K an hour is average and you usually get + that. Then apply what I just said . (I know 5K is possible if you play your very best, but 6-7K just sounds impossible... very so +50)

wow 2k an hour?! thats terrible...when I form pts I have me and my 2 friends for now (rdm and drk) and I pick up a healer and a tank, throw in 2 DD and we're good to go, that usually gets us maybe 4.5k-5k exp an hour, then we're meeting up with a pld and mnk friend to static the rest away past 50, dunno what's gonna happen about a healer cuz our whm had to cancel cuz she's quitting for a while.

Actually, when 5k is an average, that means you usually get 5k.

To say your static pt which is something like Bard/Nin/Thf/Rng/Rdmg/Blm getting 4k is bad, and you guys all play together for a long time and know each others habits, all have uber gear, etc... is bad, then we understand. To say some guy who gets an odd pt that works and gets 4k an hour is awesome. I still find it hard to believe that you get 5k an hour average anyway.
