New Races?

Any thoughts of some new races?

Wishful thinking:

How about a race to give Tarus a run for their money when it comes to mages? Something non-Chibi, non-cutesy. A serious looking non midget-sized mage-centric race would be nice. Maybe a smaller, more sinuous version of Elvaans (appearing like traditional Elves, for example) would be cool.

Melees have more than enough races considered viable/top-tier for a variety of melee (Elvaan, Galka, and Mithra all shine in melee roles depending on job). Mages have one penultimate chooce: Tarutaru. They monopolize the mage class, and no other class comes close despite the fact that you might like the look of another race.

So, another race that also also excels in magic but doesn't force a stat-minded player such as myself into the body of a toddler would be nice.

New races would mean alot of people with a big "I AM A NOOB" sticker on thier head for the next couple months.

Ok. At fist I thought this was just a silly post, but once someone mentioned something about the Mage class that would not be a midget, I came to thinking...

But then again we can't add races in total disregard to the game world...

So: why not choose the "Yugado" race as a playable race? They are beastmen, true, but we could have a few converts/traitors and have them as playable characters.

They could be a mage race witha VERY low CHR rating and medium everything else, but with some major MP (for the mage jobs).

What do you think?

Goblins should be a playable race and so should Moblins (the goblin-ish types in the new expansion coming out) Maybe moblins could be magic users? I really hate the name "moblins" it sounds stupid as hell.

the yagudo / mage thing, i'm sorry, but it's incredibly stupid. we dont NEED a new class. there's one for the people that want to be giant, strong, HP donning gorillas. theres the tall elegent strengty elvaan, for the type that want. there's the Humes, for balance and class choice. Tarutaru for the people that want to be cute / good mages, and Mithra, for those who want dexterity. the only choice that is not really available is one that is "charisma bearing" for BRDs and BSTs, which isnt neccesary, because a race purely for Charisma is dumb.

Its too bad the Mithra are the "speedy" race already, I would of loved to have had the Viera in this game. I love the Viera.

Honestly they've kind of covered every specialty for most of the races, I don't know what they could put in now that would have its own niche.

Maybe varations of already existing races? Like Tarutaru's more geared for physical performing, or Elvaan's more geared towards speedy performing, or Hume's more towards magical performing.
I honestly can't say its a totally good idea though. I can't really think of anything other than for the sake of variety.

Now if there were job abilities or magic's which only certain races could use, that'd be different. Like at least one job ability for each race that differ's in use. One or few for each or most jobs.

Thats like making a totally different game now though.

If there's anything that has to do with the races that I'd like though, its more hair styles, and the ability to change your already existing hair style (Though it may have to be the same color, you know, for continuity. Maybe not)

What they could do, with out screwing up the story line, would be intorducing male mithra.

I mean, how many guys do you know are playing female mithra with much reluctance because the only high agi, dex race is female only?

I really do agree with that. I'm hume only b/c i didn't want to be a chick (call me a moron or whatever i don't care) but i still wanted to be a thf and rng (the two jobs mithra are best for) and I just wish there were male version of the mithra (maybe w/ a mane???)

male mithra would be nice, also, the idea of a "barbershop" (maybe at the goblin shop in jeuno) where you could change your hair style/ color for X amount of Gil every "game" 3months or so, would be nice. i know im not the only one who over time sees someone elses face in X armor and then my chosen face in X armor and is dissapointed.
