Well im new to the forums and im goin to get the game for the ps2 when it comes out next tuesday and i was wondering whats the best starting job for a Hume and for a Elvaan b/c im trying to decide which one im going to be and which jobs go best with each one ty

No reason to worry about what class goes best with what race.. just pick what race you like the best then you can try out any class you want when you get in the game..

you can change jobs at will any time you want in your mog house... just make sure you pick the race you like the most because you cant change that.

you can then try each job and see which one you like the best.

did u read what he said? of hte 6 starting jobs its fairly irrelevent unless your going extremes, taru's shouldn't bemelee,s an galkas should bemages (note, i say starting char, lvl1 no sub, i'm perfectally aware later on they can do just fine w/ proper support from gear/food/subs) 2 days till i never visit starting cities

Stating job will not really matter, but it will depend on what you want to be in the future. Drakon24, put down the advanced jobs you want to try and people can give you some more help. But in general, if you going to be a melee job in the future, pick WAR as your starting job. If you going to be a mage class, then be WHM to start.

            the class isnt important.

being the race you like the most is... believe me if you pick a race because of how good he plays a class instead of the race you truly like you will be miserable the whole time you play and wish you was the other race.

any race can successfully become any class with hard work and dedication.

now if you do want to be the best at what you do.

well generally you want the kitty for speed jobs/taru for magic jobs/elvaan-galka for melee jobs and hume a blend of all.

but again the worst mistake a newer player can make is picking a race based on stats or what would seem to be the best race for a job on paper.

just pick what race you like the best you can make it in any job with any race just some you have to work harder then others.

Dude, you already posted this, why are you repeating yourself?? The original poster said he/she wants to be a hume or elvaan, so obviously he/she knows what races they want to play. The question was what jobs hume and elvaan are good at.

Because he didnt seem to understand what i said the first time... so i thout i would repeat it.

If your goind either drg, drk, pld, or whatever...
Elvaan would be probably the "best" at those classes.
But if your going to play with a lot of classes, like mage classes, maybe thf or something, then do hume, cause they are good at anything, while elvaan suck basically as whm and blm (yeah yeah any job can be good, but overall, you will not be as good as a taru or hume whm, or thf) but if your intent on just playing one of these jobs, then elvaan would be good for you...
if you are going these jobs, do war at the beginning i would say...

Heh, reminds me of that Simpsons episode where Homer tries to repeat, louder each time when people can't understand him.

But seriously, you are on a completely different discussion. The poster is asking what jobs are goob for hume and elvaan, obviously playing to the race's full potential is important to him.

                      Anyways, back on topis.

Hume is the all-around race. They generally work out well in all classes. They are not specialized for anything. This is a plus if you want to play both mage and melee jobs but don't want to start multiple characters.

Elvaan, unlike the traditional Elf race, has low INT, low MP, low DEX, and low AGI, while having the best STR, high VIT, and high MND. They are designed towards melee damager classes where STR counts. The jobs you have listed, dark knight, dragoon, and paladin will all suit the elvaan's advantages.

THey are not as good in perticular, however, (boy, here I am going down that slippery slope again) good for caster classes due to the MP constraints. They are even more disadvantaged as BLM due to the lowest INT in the game.

Having said that, I must add, to try and avoid starting a flame war, that it does not mean they cannot work out for tose jobs. It just takes more time, effort, and skill to compensate for their disadvantages in those jobs.
