Most FUN Job

Out of these Melee jobs which is the most fun? They all sound really cool. I don't really care about PT invites, damage, or any of that good stuff. I just want to pick a job that is fun to play as. Dark Knight, Dragoon or Samurai?

Samurai or Dark Knight. I think Samurai/Dark Knight would be the most fun just because of how cool they seem. I play Samurai just to get that cool AF someday, and Dark Knight because that's basically me, always liked DRKs.

also, i hope you have a couple million gil to spend on equipment at level 56 or so because this job's AF is useless.


Dragoon I think is good because they're excellent for farming, but the wyvern can be as much a blessing as a curse. It's "cool" to have and all, but it goes away when you get on a chocobo and it will die fast while fighting certain mobs (AF armor fixes this though)

Samurai......i don't know.

1-29 imo dragoon's fun (because of the wyvern factor... it takes awhile before the love of the wyvern to go away, eventually you and your pt will start to loath it i.e. u'll do less dmg when it dies, it dies really fast, it lags some people, and gets in the way..) *note penta thrust sucks.

30-60 samurai. renki'ing with yourself is like playing with yourself... fun fun fun... lol

60+ drk. pain in the ass to lvl 40-59, but once u lvl to 60, your dmg kills that of samurai and dragoon, also, 66+ ur one of the most wanted job.

check the corresponding forums for each job, you'll hear alot of bitching from dragoons and samurai 60+ and you'll hear alot of bitching from drk's 59-

I haven't tried DRK yet, but I've gotten my SAM and DRG both up to 30, and for that level span, I have to say I like DRG better. I personally dislike SAM because of the miss factor, but it's good damage. DRG seems more consistent to me. Damage is pretty good, and just seems to be fun whereever I go with my wyvern

Blackmage

nothing like sitting back and literally dismantling an opponent limb by limb and he wants to kill you but he cant... especially if your a taru cuz your this little dude and tearing apart mean monsters with insane damage.

also doing magic bursts is alot of fun especially if you get a few fellow blackmages doing bursts with you... 2 blackmages each bursting n-sync is pretty darn fun.

whitemage is fun because you are the most important person for the most part... every time the monster attacks you erase his damage and you are doing the most damage to the monster without doing any damage... keeping everyone is a power rush.

tanking kinda fun... like a person who is into pain.. like hit me mo fo... wanting to take the hits.. hehe.. kind of a sick person like this job...

dunno every job has fun points about it i guess.

personally i like ranger because i love to hunt enemies.. and the rangers tracking ability is the master of hunting prey.. i like how you know what monsters are in the area while noone else has any idea... to me that is fun not a whole lot of fun in parties but really fun to solo for items and stuff.

oh yeah and i know you asked between those job but i dont care LOL.

The most fun part of melee combat is WS & skillchain, out of those 3. the SAM is better at producing these.

But i think THF is probably the most fun melee overall.

Self renkei is still very hard. You need like a TON of dex equipment cause if this one shot doesn't make it, the renkei is over. It's better, if you have a ranger in the PT. They get TP pretty fast because they can control the speed of their TP so when they are ready, basically you go, they go, then you go again XD
Then theres the setup for MBs ><

I remember reading this in another post, I don't remember which. But keep in mind, having the most fun jobclass in a PT may be all good, except that you're in a PT like once a week, or even once a month. How much fun can it be staring at the AH in jeuno for 4-5 hrs waiting to be asked into groups.
