Sorry if this has been asked before

How much douse the race affect the job?
I know different races have different stats but how much will it affect your game play??? I don't know what job I want and I would like to know if I should figure out what my job is going to be before I make a character

I would like to be a Mithra, Hume or Elvaan will there be jobs I will not be able to play because I will never get a group

it's going to GREATLY affect your experience with the game, and the party you group w/ experience of the game.

Elvaan = make awesome warrior types, but can play melee well

Hume= average, good but not great at everything

Mithra= awesome a high AGI jobs, like theif, nin, rng...melee type

What ever race you choose to play, choose the job that suits YOUR style of play... supporter, leader, healer, nuker, whatever it is....play it well and keep updated on the newest equipment available to your character. Also, know your role in the party and be aware of skillchain oppurtunites.

That's all i can think of at the moment,
Ohh, how I look forward to a steady job in which i can support my Final Fantasy XI addiction once more...

Hume, Elvaan, Mithra suits those Jobs

Hume-Red Mage fits perfectly since both the job and the race are avergae. Average Dragoon, and items/equipment can compensate for lack of stats

Mithra-Exactly like Hume except female only and high ALG/DEX but lower Strength. Good choice if you don't mind playing a cat girl.

Elvaan-Strongest race, good HP, lowest AGL/DEX...gonna be looking for items to increase those stats or you will be missing a lot. Second lowest MP, but it works as a red mage. Make better Dragoons.

TaruTarus are okay, you just have to watch your HP more often. Since you will be playing a mage and a melee you won't or shouldn't be getting hit in a party, so it could work...just harder.

Galka are fine except if you play them as a red mage expect hard times. You require a lot of skill to manage your MP (lowest in the game) and a lot of money to afford the equipment to keep you good enough to party with. On the other hand, they make good Dragoons.

no, u'll still get groups... but you'll have to buy items that make up for the stats ur missing, but then you won't have room/money for the regular items that are needed... you could still be one, but you might not have as much fun... or severely deplete the fun in your group...

needless to say, at least you'll be in a group

I disagree with the other posters here. Race actually has very little to do with which job you want to excell in. There are some exceptions like taru WAR and galka mage, that will be harder to play but they can still work. All you need is good equipment and some skill. Just becasue you a mithra THF doesnt mean you are going to be good. Anyways, you sound like you want to play several jobs, so i would suggest being a hume. They not the best at anything, but the decent at everything.

As for the mithra PLD, yes you will be a decent PLD. You lack vit and hp, but you have a good mp pool and can get items to up your hp and vit. People will still invite you, they just may look for another race first, such as elvaan for PLD.

But i would choose the race you want, because once you pick it, you cant change it.

Race doesnt have an effect. Monsters miss Mithra noticabely more than the other races 30+. ON the flip side Elvaan hit noticeably harder than mithra. Ive seen it come up to 150 to 250 more a fight for a Elvaan.

Paladin it doesnt really matter since you main job is holding aggro. 1 hand sword doesnt hit worth a dime if you a Paladin so yuo relay more on casting cure on people and using provoke to draw hate.

This is just from my experience.
