WHat job is most fun as a basic main job?

It kinda varies with level. At the lower level range though, I'd say BLM. Before monsters can really hurt you, BLM's damage feels godly. Just blast anything you see into submission.

However, I find RDM/WHM to be quite fun later on. You get to juggle all the party support tasks.

I have little stomache for the melee classes. Although I still play them a bit when I am bored, but hack-'n-slash is just not my thing.

RDM, though mainly after you get Dispel and Refresh IMHO.

Before that, you're just a wannabe WHM or wannabe BLM that just happens to enfeeble better, it seems.
