choice of weapons

Hey guys. I'm a level 12 WAR right now. Which weapon should I be focusing on leveling? So far Ive pretty much only used 1H sword + shield.

Also, I've narrowed down my path for the game between these 3 choices.

WAR/MNK
PLD/WAR
DRK/WAR

I'm gonna pick one of those to go through the game with. Ffor any of those 3 choices should i be leveling up a certain weapon right now?

I think you should go lvl up your Red Mage to 15 now....The reason is because by the time your get to lvl 18, you need to do a quest for subjob, and you need the rdm as part of your quest...I think you should start lvling your mnk after you reach lvl 20 with your war....

What the hell you talking about? You dont need a RDM as part of the quest. You collect 3 items from the monsters in Dunes/Bubu and give them to one of the quest givers. I'd suggest building 1h sword and Shield for PLD, and Scythe or Great Axe for DRK.

Great axe, and axe are the WARs A weapon. But, WAR is a master of weapons, so level a few weapons.

And the guy who said you need a RDM is -_- and his sub? 2 WAR, wtf? This is why importers hate us.

This is gonna sound like a n00b question, but im a n00b so here it goes lol. What does leveling up a weapon do, besides getting you new weapon skills?

Leveling up a weapon gives higher attack. This means you hit more often and you do more damage. Here is what I think you should level:

WAR - Axe and Great Axe
PLD - Sword and Great Sword
DRK - Scyther and Great Sword
MNK - Hand to Hand

Im currently lvling my war sub job using an axe. if you can afford it, i would recommend raising your skill in axe and sword if you plan on going war all the way. was in a party and for the best renkei i needed a sword, but i didnt have one. it wasnt the end of the world, but i definatly could have helped out a lot more if i have two weapons ready to use than one.

Lol...are you saying i'm a importer? I was just joking about my rdm lvl24 war lvl 2....I"m lvl30 rdm now and lvl 10 blm...you don't really need rdm to get sub....i was just joking about it.. but say if you were a rdm you should get war as sub cause if you want to do the red lotus...you need war as sub....if not, just keep melee with melee and mage with mage....I'll say go for maces once you start lvling your war...cause maces are pretty cool as well...Recently i heard that farming bees for chips is good way to make money...but is there anything else? I know farming ores is also a good way to make money as well....plz...don't tell me fires....i'm tired of hearing stupid people saying oh you should try a stack of fires...it sells pretty well....plz...is been 3 months...don't say noobie stuff like that....I also want to know how can i raise my fame....without going through doing complicated quests or missions...thanks

Go to Palgbor mines in bastok area and get some Quadav back plates around 600 gil at AH. Also great axes are awsome for warriors I just got Iron Tempest it owns

Which is a better weapon to level up in for a future BRD/WHM ?

So far, I think Staff might be the way to go, but those Hexa-Strike video clips (WHM-specific WS?) look awesome over in the video vault.

You shouldn't be worried about WS... since you wont be figthing.

Aye... in PT situations, I never melee... I just do my best to keep the melee'ers and other folks in the PT from dying.

But when I am feeling anti-social, I sometimes head on over to Giddeus and beat up on the birdies... hence I was wondering on what a BRD might choose to solo on (especially when I start to initially level my BRD against Mandragoras and Bees again after getting that job avaialable, when I get my WHM to lvl 30) ^^

Also, it leaves me wondering how that WHM got her WS up to 225 for the Hexa-Strike.
