Galka BST/WAR Viability at higher levels

I just started a character on the new Asura server. I had thought since I like some solo play and the warrior class (my char on Cerberus is Mithra MNK/THF) that I would try Galka BST/WAR. I thought this would be interesting and I liked the Galka in Beastmaster AF armor.

I logged in created my Galka then while hunting I did a "/sea all bst" to see all of the Beastmasters on the server. About 90% of them were all BST/WHM. I know this is a popular combo but just about everyone had this combo.

I don't really care for playing the mage class but I don't want to get my hopes up for BST/WAR at high levels if it really sucks compared to BST/WHM.

So with that in mind do you guys have anything positive to say about the high level BST/WAR combo?

Only good about having War for a sub is Provoke and a litte more defence, but when you think about it, what good is Provoke and a little more defence if your pet is gonna be taking all the hits later on? There is a reason 90% of those Beastmasters have subbed WHM
