ideal PT combination?

Just wondering what everyone's ideal PT combination is (or would be, for those who don't have the game).
Here's mine: (mainjob/subjob)

whm/smn
blm/whm
brd/whm
pld/war
thf/war
drk/mnk

whm/smn cos you need one (smn rather than blm, for extra mp)
blm/whm for high damage/emergancy heals
brd/whm for fantastic bard abilities/after-battle heals
pld/war for meat shield/emergancy heals
thf/war for high damage in renkei/taunt in emergancy/extra drops
drk/mnk just for the huge damage

although i haven't actually PT'd with this combination, it's my speculated fave.
the best PT I ever had was quite widly different from the above, i think it was whm/brd/rdm/war/thf/sam

Got almost 3 levels in this.

I always have goooood time with ranger.

so, here is mine:

PLD/WAR
THF/whatever
RNG/whatever
BRD/WHM
RDM/BLM
WHM/BLM

sidewinder -> viper or dancing... omg.. pitiful monsters...

PS. thf should be able to do yokodama to make pld to be able to keep monster with him efficiently.

best combination.... for me

3 mages will need BRD and RDM. 1 more can be anything.

3 fighters will need RNG and THF. and 1 meat shield. PLD preferrably.

hmmm adding some more oppinion here.

bard's 2 MP song + RDM's refresh means 6 MP every 3 seconds. the 1 other mage will have a very nice time spending his/her MP. and RDM can convert when we runs out of MP. it's like an unlimited MP supply combination.

Ranger's Sidewinder 1000+ damage >> THF's Viper bite 1000+ damage >> 600+ damage add from renkei effect.... is a killing machine..
I've seen Arching arrow 1200 damage >> THF's Shark's bite 600 damage >> lightness effects 1200 damage before too.... (or the way around... can only say it's great... too great)

two of the best Pt ive been in consisted of:

Pt number one hunting in khazam
elvaan =rng/sam
elvaan = war/thf
mithra = thf/war
mithra = sam/war
me(hume)= rdm/blm
taru =smn/whm

we were chaining gobus, the garuda blink saved much mp and curega
me with regen and nukes fo rthe renkei were awesome.

ranger with sidewinder after main renkei and my MB = dead gobu.

second PT hunting in onzozo
we were linking cockatrices
Pt was :
me hume= rdm/blm
galka=pld/whm
mithra=drk/sam
mithra= war/thf
mithra=pld/war
elvaan=brd/whm

galka pld and mithra pld were the meatshields. and healign themselves. and keeping tuant.

galka pld/whm can taunt easy , all he did was heal himself and the cockatrice attacked.

dark sam insane tp so kill the mob with chain ws.

mithra war/thf was their to increase drop rate since we were combo level up PT and treasure hunt PT.

me and bard serve several functions.
bard get second cockatrice and and use hp song and ballad to refresh the galka and my mp.
and give back up heals.

Me get 3rd cockatrice and use regen on meatshields.

Now me and bard were very busy , every ten minutes i use convert to keep the mp up .
the bard and I had the job of making sure the adds dont um add , so he would area sleep theni woul dpick up his slack.

we would go from making 196 exp to 284 exp it was so cool, at that time i was 41 That Pt got me abotu 3k an hr I leveld twice and made abotu 5k gil.

I got an interesting PT a couple days ago.

It was.. PLD SAM NIN THF BRD RDM/NIN***.

When i was invited, i was like .. would 1 mage pt be doing ok?...

but the leader was.. rank9.. so... well, whatever, i joined.

We got almost 4k per hour O.o!!

please forgive me i really dont know why 1 mage could keep healing... especially the rdm.. was... subbing.. ninja .. and he is an elvaan ... /shrug

nitouryu + enthunder is..... sweet T.T...

our pt's whole MP was less than 600 (rdm was elvaan... hmm go figure)

the rdm/nin got like 350mp, bard = 120, pld = something..

very interesting.. I didnt expected that the pt would do that great.

the renkei was ninjatu's earth WS -> Dancing edges.. and samurai solo WS..

sometimes an awesome pt doesnt need to be pld, 2 fighter and 3 mage

I dont think I can make such pt though... too scared to fight with 1 mage T.T

My ideal PT would consist of a group of people that I enjoy playing with, and can carry on a conversation.

Call me crazy, but that's what I look for while playing online games.

Yeah, same here, but it seems like my party is going to end up with 4 THFs, a RDM, and a DRK (me). I'm hoping I don't get on the same server as them...refusing them might not go over to well...lol.

best pt config ive been involved was this...

PLd/war-Taru tons of mp canheal himself with cure3
DRK/war-Galka tons of damage back up taunt
thf/nin-hate towards pld etc..
rdm/whm-kept all our mp up
Brd/whm-back up healer and mp up
whm/smn-primaryhealer

the pt wanted me to take drk/war but wuold have been ok with drk/thf

As DRK, my favorite config is:

DRK/WAR
WAR/SAM
PLD/WAR
BRD/WHM
WHM/BLM or BLM/WHM
RDM/ (sub BLM if you have WHM already, sub WHM if you have BLM)

Then again, I haven't PTed with RNG before, maybe they'd do better. I like WAR for shield break, however, then he recharges and we can renkei, it works like a dream.

There really is no ideal or best, but there are compatibility issues. THF is most compatible with MNK, DRG, or RNG because they have high-damaging ŠÑ’Ê WS's (THF along with one of the others), whereas DRK WAR and RNG (either with either) fit together for •ª‰ð renkeis. I always like a PLD in the PT, but i know some who don't :p Unless, of course, we have one of those insane blink pouch pulling ninjas, but they'd have trouble keeping hate without THF. :/ SAM... I honestly don't really know what's up with SAM :sweat: I guess people just bring them along to pump out WSes are fast as they can :/ I dunno, I don't PT with SAM that much at upper levels.
