I have searched this forum but found no information, although the quest seems simple one idiotic mistake will drive you crazy. When I started the quest and got my trail katana the NPC said nothing except, "Deal as much damage as possible". The following is requires.
You will not gain any points for fighting too weak monsters, easy prey is the minimum. I recommend doing to Sea Serpent Grotto coffer area and doing it there, It took me 1 hour and 30 minutes to get 300 points and I got 3 coffers in there while doing so.
Weapon Skill - 1 Point
Skillchain - 2 points
Lv3 Skillchain - 5 points
You require 300 points do doing solo WS will drive you crazy, normal skillchain is just as annoying. Doing Lv3 WS is the fastest way.
I had it easy cause I have a samuari leveled so I subbed it to do this. I also got a Samurai and RDM friend to help me.
Go to Sea Serpent Grotto and just do Lv3 Skillchain on every single mob, try to stay in the deaper area of the coffer zone becuase at 70+ stuff there is EP and Too weak.
All you have to do is 60 Lv3 chains and you are done with Part 1 of the quest.
The latent effect of your weapon will dissappear once you hit 300 points so just monitor it.
Once you have traded the weapon back to your quest giver you will be required to kill an NM, the NMs are different strenght for each class. The monk skeleton was horribly hard while ninja crab was very easy. I recommend 10-12 people to take with you.
Once you have killed the NM go back to your NPC.
Ninja - Blade: Ku
Start NPC - Ryoma
NPC Location - Norg
NM Type - Crab
NM Location - Labryinth of Onzozo (I-6)
Monk - Asuran Fists
Start NPC - ???
NPC Location - Port Bastok
NM Type - Skeleton
NM Location - Bostoniaux (I-8)
Feel free to post information on the other jobs becuase those are the only two that I have information for now.
