How does this "grudge reset" quest work exactly?

Magephaud in Norg, trade 3 Gold Beast Coins to recieve the Uggalepih Key.

Somewhere in Uggalepih Temple, there is a hidden door where a Tonberry NPC is. To reset your hate, you have to pay him some money (amount varies). I completely forgot the location, someone else might know. You can go back to the Tonberry NPC anytime again to reset your hate.

To avoid getting hate again by Tonberries, you can call for /help before it dies and it won't add on to Everyone's Grudge. Anyone know if this trick still works?
