Rank 4 required for mog house expansion 2?

I've read all the threads here about the mog house expansion quests, and some folks say that once you have the fame and the bed installed that it's random whether you get the quest or not on any given week. If that's true, then fine, I'll just leave the bed in and wait my turn.

However, it occurred to me that perhaps Rank has something to do with it. Can anyone verify that you CAN get the 2nd mog house expansion quest (mahogany bed) at rank 3? I should have plenty of fame (over 35 unique quests done in each of the 3 starting cities, with many repeats + some in selbina/jeuno).

trust me i've got plenty of fame and i'm rank 5 and havn't even gotten first... it's something else

It happens at the conquest tally, if your nation comes into first or stays in first then you should get the quest, dunno bout the rank thing though.

to answer your questions :

1 - no, you do not need rank 4 to get the second Mog House expansion. I am rank 3, with a fame level of 7-8 (i think i'm one step away from the max) in Bastok. I have completed both Mog Quest 1 and 2.

2 - the quest is initialized at the conquest tally, but it is not necessary for your country to come in 1st place to get this. The best time to put up the bed is late on Saturday night, so when Sunday morning comes, and the conquest tally occurs, you're quest will be opened.
