  • Should I bother coming back?

I enjoyed FFXI very much, loved partying (except for the retarded wait time to get a stupid party. ). I made very good friends and found a great LS well many LSes, I was on the fairy Server. Well recently I got the craving to play again, and since my character isn't gone I've been thinking cool now I don't have to start over , so I can maybe come back.

BUT, the game is so time consuming for like quests and party times, I only get like a average 2 hrs. a day from mon.-thurs. then friday to sunday I get like 2hr turns. (have a sister, plus I can get more time depending on the day.) which go off and on. Plus the prices have supposedly sky rocketed which also keeps me away. Seriously I don't wanna spend like 1~3 months farming for money so I can buy that one gear I "have" to have.

Although the people I meet were so nice and I miss them. . I left though becuase I got a lil bored with it and I wanted to go back to RO for a bit. (yes I like it ).

So should I bother going back? Is it worth it with the amount of time I have to play?

(played 6 months with the time like that so I guess maybe it isn't too much of a trouble.
And is there anyone else has like that much time in a day like me to play?)

I've stop playing like 4 times, sometimes life gets in the way. Everytime I was only able to go so long before the bug came iching lol. But I still have the same charactor. As far as the farming, find something that sells and make it, I have not farmed in like 6 mths. In short everytime I come back I get in to it more then before.

OK, thank you, and thanks for the idea on farming.

this game is and will always be time consuming. I don't know how much fun you have, if it outweights the time factor or not.

for 1 thing, if you think coming back is bothersome, then it might not be worth it for you. When I return, I had no second thoughts. I knew I have to play this game, it is part of my life now.

The fun at most times does outwiegh the time factor, well I guess how I but it coming back does seem bothersome. But I don't meant it to to sound that way X_x;; Sorry about that.

I just returned to FFXI myself since I noticed SE actually started investing in the game again (most likely due to the Xbox). So I would say they are doing alot to fix the game, and if they continue to improve then it will be alot more fun to play.

They made new rings which give you extra exp every day for a short period of time so you can make more progress with the little bit of time that you spend partying. And the exp gained from mobs has been ajusted here and there so it is a little more reasonable.

I would also say that if you get on every day and intend to spend the whole day partying then your playing a little unbalanced anyways. You should spend at least part of your time farming or better yet crafting. If you focus on crafting and farming with the freedom to party then you can make money to spend on better things, and hitch onto whatever party comes your way when they are available.

Once you get back into BCNM, crafting, and partying with the nice rings, then you may realy begin to enjoy the game. About the only thing I can warn you of that will simply smack you in the face is, the prices have gone haywire. I quit for 6 months and everything is 10 TIMES MORE EXPENSIVE! Prepare for a rude awakening.
Learning > Intelligence > Experience. Weak minds are subject to experience before realization. Inteligent minds understand quickly with minimal experience. Learned minds excersise knowledge gained from study, and do not require experience to reach realization. Which is your claim?

If you want to craft and level at the same time pick Thief and start in San d'Oria. You can steal Beastcoins from the Orcs, and they'll drop fire crystals. Four beastcoins and a fire crystal makes a bronze ingot I think. Then you can put another fire crystal to it and make a sheet or something, and then a wind crystal and make links. I'm not too sure, but if you're thief and you can convince your parties to fight Beastmen you can skill up Smithing rather quickly and effortlessly.

you trade conquest points for the ring at the conquest guard. there's 2 rings, 1 will give you 75% exp boost for 500 exp max, the other one will give you 50% boost for 1000 exp max.
