Okay, on Sunday POL started acting weird on me.
First, it was loading up to my friend's list then it just, well, stopped. Didn't freeze as I could still right click as well as use my friend's list and message stytem. Sometimes, if I left it alone long enough, the crystal shortcut to come up which did infact take me to the FFXI section.
In the FFXI section, if left alone the menus would load as normal and I could actually log into the game and play without any problems (this only happened twice). Most of the time though, it will load up to certain points then display Error code: POL-1341. After getting this message, if I retry to connect, the FFXI logo and text might display as translucent boxes.
I know it's not my PC or a corrupted file as I went ahead and reformatted my hard drive, reloaded the game, and am still getting the errors.
This leaves my school's network or something wrong on SE's end. Near as I can tell, nothing else is wrong with my school's network as everything else is loading up just fine (I have never had a problem with my school's network blocking the game, ever). After looking at one of the stickies about ports, it seems to me that although the connection is fine, POL isn't wanting to load things properly.
I've contacted SE, but who knows how long that'll take. If someone can confirm if it's a restricted port issue, I'd appreciate it and yell at my network admins.
