    Final Fantasy XI wont recognize POL

    Alright, I have installed ffxi on xp before, and even Vista business x64 and Vista Ultimate x64 with no problems like this before.

    I just got another PC here since i had sold my last one. I am now trying to re-install ffxi onto the machine. I have an amd 1.8 ghz sempron, 512 ram and an nvidia 6150LE. i have my Original disks that i bought when the game first released and they are in perfect condition. (ie, no smudges, scratches, finger prints, nothing) i can install play online Just fine, but whenever i try to install final fantasy 11, it says that i don't have play online installed and that I must do it first. any help regarding this is greatly appreciated.

    ps, i am running windows XP Pro/Corporate edition with SP2 on it. a weird thing that happens after installing POL is that it says it cannot use some .dll file, but it boots up just fine. just can't install ffxi.

    I actually got it to work. I had a bad copy of windows xp installed. weird.

      Hmm.. all I can think of is that your Windows Installer was messed up somehow. x.x

          ^^ I don't see a reason to close the thread even though the problem has been solved. Others might have had this problem too or a similiar problem and post their findings here, which then again might help other people who have yet to face this problem!
