Yes, the main answers i found were suggestions to disable firewall or use a windower to fix the situation, both of which i cant do. Ive been playing for ages and havent changed anything on my computer recently. Did a system restore & double checked antivirus programs, then tried full re-installation but nothing worked.
It lets me log in nearly completely then the last blank 'downloading' screen brings up error 3001. When i try to go straight back into the same character error 3201 'already logged in' appears.

is it FFXI or POL?

Edit: Found your problem. You're using an outdated router. A few months back there was an update where people with old routers were no longer able to access the game for any amount of time. Try hooking your computer up directly to your modem, if it still dosn't work there's either a SW firewall (windows, or another program) causing you to not send data that way, disable that and you're golden.

Thankyou for your answer, i was looking into that yesterday and if it didnt work today was tempted to do a full windows reset. Tried one last go at logging in today and... well it must have been the in game server cos its working again now. XD
My plants are dead and my chocobo hates me but at least the game reinstall i did fixed my POL messaging problem too.
