My character can't seem to log on...

but my mule logs on without a hitch, which doesn't really do me anything seeing how he has only 600 gil and my main holds all my money currently, so I have nothing to do until this little problem is resolved. When I select my main, it goes to the loading screen, sits there for two minutes, and boots me out, saying

"No Response from FFXI Server.
Connection timed out.
Press OK to shut down"

I tried asking for help on my mule, and someone asked if I was in an expansion area, said "No, I'm in Bastok", and he replied "Sorry, I dunno what's up then." So I tried contacting Enix, did that live-chat thing, but ended up waiting close to two hours without a response of any sort, so I e-mailed them instead, and still no reply. This forum is basically my last source of any information or help regarding this issue. If anyone knows what's going on, or has experienced similar situations, please tell me about it. Much thanks.

(Again, my mule logs on just fine, so it doesn't have anything to do with my connection or router or anything.)

this is coming out of left field, but did you happen to NOT log off correctly last time? i.e. forced disconnect, alt-tab out, etc.

if so, your character data might actually have been damaged.

or they are having problems on your server local to the zone; in which case try again later.

The last time I alt-tabbed out was quite a while ago, like two weeks ago, I don't see how that could possibly affect me now. My mule is on the same server in San'doria, I don't think Bastok is having problems or anything. If my character data is damaged, looks like I gotta restart...only level 14, but still, don't wanna level MNK and raise Alchemy again, bleh. It's been this way for like four days now, maybe more, so starting to think the worst. Well, thanks for the response Taru, let's just pray I can play my character again.
