I tried e-mailing Square's support staff, but all I got was the automated response with FAQ questions I'd already looked at. First a little background:
I played FFXI on the PC for about a year or two, but dropped the game for various reasons not too long after Promathia came out. The 360 version has enticed me back into the game, hopefully for a long period of time. So I'm experienced with the game and understand setups. Besides unmanagable server issues, I *never* had connection problems with the PC version.
Anyway, my issue:
I get randomly timed out on the 360 version every so often. It usually ranges between 10-30 minutes after I start playing. Up until that point, I'm fine. I have 100% connectivity and things seem to be going at a reasonably acceptable rate. I'm running through a LAN attached to a cable modem, so I wouldn't expect too much of an issue there since the game is built around 56K. I should also note I had this problem with the 360 beta version, too...well, at least what little I played of it. Now, I don't have any other connectivity problems. Other 360 games run fine online and I haven't had any issues with being disconnected or timed out. I know there is a Windows Media Connect feature that screws with some games, like Ridge Racer 6, but I have that off, too.
When I get disconnected, I only get disconnected from FFXI and POL. I'm still logged onto Xbox Live, so my conclusion is that POL/FFXI doesn't like me that much for whatever reason.
Has anybody else experienced this problem or can possibly offer up some solutions?
