how do world passes work?

If i have one char on a server and i use a wp with my other char do they both goto that new server and start a lvl 1 or does the other stay the same?

I think only the selected Charector will be switch to the selected server. Also, they will be reset to level 1 and you dont keep your gil or equipment, just your name.

You can only use a World Pass when creating a new character. The character you input the World Pass in during Character Creation will be created on that WP's server. All other characters you create afterwards will be made on that server, as it becomes your "base server." You can, however, change your base server by using a different World Pass when creating another character.

You cannot use a World Pass on an existing character, only when creating a new one. Any previous characters will remain on their server.

so nothing happens to the one thats already made? it stays on the same server with all its items and lvl ?
