FFXI-4001 Error when entering Ru'Aun ; ;

Ahh...yeah. This is a REALLY bad problem I'm having ; ;. It turns out, when I first enter Ru'Aun Gardens with my friends, I get the "Downloading Data" thing in the corner, a few parts of the zone load up including the display thing, but I get massive lag. By the time 5-10 minutes are up, I'm kicked out of the game with the FFXI-4001 Error. It said that there was no reponse from the server or something along those lines. Well, I tried again, but to no avail. My mule was able to load up fine in San d'Oria, and my real life friend who plays PS2 version was able to enter the zone with no problems on my character.

After doing numerous possible remedies and looking all over the net, I was able to find a possible solution. This solution involved opening up more thingies in my router's firewall. However, does that make sense? Will the things in my firewall block out ONE particular zone for me? I'm completely fine travelling throughout all of Vana'diel, but Ru'Aun messes me up....

I've tried everything from reinstalling Zilart to defragmenting my C Drive. So do you guys think that opening up a few new ports in my firewall will somehow allow my comp to enter this one zone?

Maybe you don't want to try this, but have you tried reinstalling the entire game? Sounds like a file is corrupt somewhere

i get major major lag in re laun too, my game crashed, not a network problem after running around in here >.<

Same thing happened to me when I first zoned there. Talked to a GM, disabled my antivirus, and it worked. He said to bypass my ethernet hub too, but I didn't even bother.

Have you done any hacks like the mog house hack? I knew someone who couldn't zone into Fei Yin because they had Lion in their mog house. As soon as they fixed the hack back to the moogle, zoning worked great.

Disabled your anti-virus? And that fixed you being able to zone into Ru'Aun? Man, that was a useful GM you talked to there. The two that I talked to both directed me to a firewall issue -_-...

Solution: Make another char, call a GM explain the situation and they will send a report to employess who fix small glitches...

Aha. I figured our what my problem was. Somone on another board told me that all I needed to do was delete the music file for Tu'Lia, so I did so, and I can enter the sky with no stupid error! /hurray
