  • PS2 Network Settings config. HELP, POL errors!

Hi all, I've been looking around and Ive seen that people have been getting a lot of help from this forum, so I figure I'm gonna give it a shot.

I just bought FFXI yesterday and I havnt been able to configure the settings correctly in order for it to work. I'm at the stage where I'm trying to install Playonline Viewer, and everytime I try to do the online certification (Step 2), I get a POL error message. I tried messing around with the configuration, but I just get a different error message everytime. I'm using a direct DSL connection to my modem (no router). I'm in Ontario Canada and my ISP is Bell Sympatico. Here are the different senarios that I'm getting:

I think it's something to do with my ip settings, since whenever i try something new I get a new error. However I dont know much about networks (I guess you can say I know nothing ) so I really dont know what to do in that aspect.

I aquired my DNS numbers through command prompt (ipconfig/all), and I entered them in my local area connection properties, but I just left the IP part as is since again I dont know what ip to put there exactly. Attatched is what my TCP/IP settings look like.

I called SCEA and of course they told me to call Playonline, but I really dont want to because A) They're long distance and B) Because I hear they're not much help anyways.

Umm....Help? I need someone's networking expertise, I'd be totally in debt to whoever can help me, because so far this is a total waste of money and I'm not pleased at all.

    Thanks in advance.
