    Oh no, I'm glad to finally see the job. Like I said it's just a personal thing that bugs me, knowing I do in fact have good ideas but no real outlet for them. At least means I'm not mistaken with my ideal career path, now I just need a vehicle for getting there. I think I'm allowed a bit of initial rage lol, followed by acceptance. A little credit would be cool, but that's also *incredibly* arrogant so I won't go that far.

    She is right Mal. If you didn't want your ideas to be used why did you post them? Even further, you are getting what you asked for and you are complaining about something other than the time it took them to implement it?

    Or did you want a medal and a honorific mention (considering they were indeed using your ideas), or maybe a kiss from Tanaka? Because it doesn't add up otherwise.

    ^ basically my reaction as well.

    The 2 jobs I've been wanting to see in XI are finally being added at last, along with a total overhauling of the game's Systems and UI... the only thing missing is HD FFXIV-level graphics. If they'd gone that extra mile and re-released it for PS3 who knows what a killing they could make? But that would also be loads more work for them (and costs).


    You have absolutely no idea how infuriating it is for me personally though, to repeatedly see my own ideas thought up by and implemented in games by others (I really want to get into game design, and a lot of my friends support me on this and say I've got a lot of good ideas I just need the money for the education...)


    EDIT: Rune Knight strikes me as a one of those jobs that just doesn't translate well as a support job. It might work for a class like THF or NIN that swings very quickly for less damage but otherwise I dunno.

    Same deal with Geomancer, though Geo might actually work wonderfully as a subjob for either BRD or COR since those jobs also move around a lot and focus on buffing & enfeebling. In fact, I'm calling it now that Geo will be the new defacto sub for Bard.

    They said it's still about 2 months away from the 1st implementation of the new UI. They're also reworking the macro system entirely, so lord only knows we might, MIGHT finally get more macro lines (Dear God I can only hope). Maybe they'll finally be able to address animation lock and other annoyances as well, since the basic systems of the game are all being completely redone for this expansion.


    And yet it's still being done for PS2 (in Japan). With all that's being changed, you'd almost swear they had at last scrapped the PS2 to allow for major upgrades. the new 2-hours are being finalized and will be in the next major update as well btw.

    Man, it's a lot to absorb. I'm still both steamed and oddly flattered that they more or less took my ideas for Mystic Knight. They even went with the (general) style I had in mind @.@ (armored Robes) geez.

    A Light/Medium armor Sword-using Tank with high magic def that relies on enchantment magic to both defend and kill. What, the CRAP TANAKA-SAN?! Well, at the very least it's vindication for everyone who gave me crap over the idea years ago.

    I thought you were talking about the PvP system and don't 'hush' people or tell them to shut up, especially those who have spent a lot more time and given a lot more information in this thread than you have.

    No, the monster raising is something different. You can basically play Monster Rancher on your island and more or less harvest them for meat/skins etc. I'm posting what the Community Team is relaying from the live stream now hush all of u.

    You start off as a basic enemy in that mob family, and then gradually become HNM-style monsters (even the unique voidwatch guys)
    - You earn even better rewards if you defeat players as a monster.

    HOLY SHIT new Multi-Window UI! It's pretty close to what XIV has and has been made from scratch. You can move/drag it around as you please, looks promising!!!

    They'll be adding a system so you can play the monsters, it seems. It'll be a form of PVP, I guess lol. Monster vs PCs or Monster vs Monster.

    lol, wait. You'll be able to raise your Monster levels as you play as them and you can become a Notorious Monster or something? It'll be something similar to BLU's system where as you level up you can set abilities and stuff I guess?

    Level up as a Bee, become a chariot!? Wtf, lol.

    Apparently, it'll be pretty much anywhere with a few restrictions because of sizes, I think.

    There'll be a PVP switch for players that want to participate in this, it seems. You can beat monster players for rewards and the like.

    "Play as a Monster" (Working Title) - Various styles, Monster vs Player (you become a monster) PvP as well as Monster vs Monster (you're both monsters) - you can even be Behemoth!
    - Earn "Notoriety Points" by defeating monsters, can get rewards for taking out other players who have a high point count (Items, rank up).
