Re: Post your FFXI goals of the week!
Killed Lizardtrap/Sarco/Rapnaubjdbgrglknzasg (the frog in West Saruta {s}) another 3 times each last night with the assistance of a THF with full TH on each of the kills.
0/53 on all 3 NMs.
I also set up a group to run UO last night and the night before for a total of 12 times. YOYD... so I really only got 4 whacks at it.
Day 1
Round 1: Yyg
Nothing of value
Round 2: Norris
Nothing of value
Round 3: Smile
Utsusemi: Ni (1,600,000 gil)
Absorb STR (800,000 gil)
Round 4: Yyg
Scroll of Phalanx (700,000 gil)
Round 5: Norris
Nothing of value
Round 6: Smile
Scroll of Phalanx (700,000 gil)
Day 2
Round 1: Yyg
Nothing of value
Round 2: Smile
Nothing of value
Round 3: Norris
Nothing of value
Round 4: Yyg
Nothing of value
Round 5: Smile
Utsusemi: Ni (1,600,000 gil)
Round 6: Norris
Utsusemi: Ni (1,600,000 gil)
PCC (300,000 gil)
Scroll of Phalanx (700,000 gil)
Grand totals:
Yyg: 700,000 gil
Norris: 2,600,000 gil
Smile: 4,700,000 gil
Guess who feels shafted.
New goal... find a new group (of friends like Cid and Hayde) to run these again a few times and pool the rewards and split the profit. If we had done that with this group each of us would have walked away with 8,000,000 gil to split 3 ways for a gain of 2,600,000+ gil each.
You guys want to do that tonight?

Re: Post your FFXI goals of the week!
I might have a colorful abyssite for you. Possibly even a t3 in some of those areas so t2 cant upgrade (yay).
Yacu & Tammuz I can do easily. Never tried Feur but I don’t anticipate an issue. Lemme know when you’re ready.
My new semi long-term goal
Burn up Thf to 99 & gear it with just some basics (as its main function will be for farming).
The reason for that….so I can get back into cooking!
(if you didn’t figure it out by now…I dropped fishing a while ago. I couldn’t handle it. Props/Kudos to you LS & Ebisu rod peeps)
Hear me out. Because I’ll need suggestions. I put cooking down at 43, and started back up last night. It’s obvious cooking and being Bst go pretty well together. I was searching Wiki and noticed the following
Pet Food Epsilon – Caps at 49
Pet food Zeta – Caps at 59
Pet Food Eta – Caps at 69
Pet Food Theta – Caps at 79
Dawn Muslums – Caps at 97
The ingredients for all of those are very easy to farm. Some a little tedious or time consuming (Apkallu & Puk eggs) but easy. And being a career Bst, all successful synths will go to good use.
Plan is….
47-49 – Pet food Epsilon
49-59 – Pet food Zeta
59-69 – Pet food Eta
69-79 – Pet food Theta
79-90 - ???
90-97 – Dawn Muslums
97-110 - ??? (i mean if your gonna get to 97...whats another 2 levels (...hell i'm sure >< ))
Now I understand there will be a lot of broken synths in some of the earlier stages. But most of that stuff will be free or dirt cheap and you can skill up on breaks. Started last night on Epsilon and got from 43.0 to 47.1. I’ll probably cap on Epsilon tonight and start on Zetas soon.
Epsilon is meh…but Zeta/Eta/Theta are all common items I use. Hoping this will save my wallet (and make me a buck or 2 on the side)

Re: Post your FFXI goals of the week!
Just looked it up on wiki. Should be okay. If not, I know a BST that can probably do it.

Really? A full evasion set? What level are these mobs?

Re: Post your FFXI goals of the week!
A DNC in a full evasion set, yes.
Also: When camping Hotpot... remember that there's a fake wall right near there that leads to one of those CoP-looking "Mysterious Machines". That's going to be the only place you can safely AFK in that entire area if you insist upon staying right near the spawn area.
That room it spawns in is shaped like a T. The false wall is on the top left of that T shape.

Twashtar Progress:
Nocuous Weapon x3
Black Triple Stars x3
Serra x3
Bugbear Strongman x4
La Velue x4
Hovering Hotpot x4
Yacumama x8
Feurunke x8
Tammuz x8
Glav Shells x50 (9 done)
Itz Scales x50
Orthrus Claws x75
Think I can finish La Velue and Hotpot by next week.
Side Question: Are the VNMs soloable by a DNC?

Re: Post your FFXI goals of the week!
yeah there was a guy on our server who would constantly shout for people for the quest. But he always did Levi last (i think because he already had it). And by that time, so many people dropped for whatever reason. I think at one time we went with 12 or 18 smns. I just remember it being the laggiest fight i ever had

Do Want:

I used to have a group of 6 summoners who would do the Primals with me for Walking the Beast. I've done 3 of them so far I think? Ifrit, Garuda and Ramuh IIRC. That was back at 75, though. I'll bet 3 SMNs can do it these days at 99.Originally posted by Romyro View PostHa, i remember getting astral pot ><. isnt that from BCNM 60 or something...in that moblin area?
I was also recently thinking about how easy/difficult Waking the Beast would be. Pretty sure i have all those whispers excecpt Levi.

Re: Post your FFXI goals of the week!
Thanks to Romyro... I went back to my old list of "OCD COMPLETION ITEMS" for SMN and added in the new gear that has been introduced with the past few updates. I know I'm missing a few in there somewhere... but here's what I have listed. Assume for the time being that if it's not on the list... I either own it, forgot about it... or it's obsolete when compared to something else for that same slot. That last example is unlikely... as most
Weapons:
Xseata III
Arka IV
Haoma III
Apajamas III
Vishrava III
Vourukasha III
Atar III
Bahamut's Staff
Nirvana
Body:
Nothing at all
Head:
Fenrir's Crown
Selenian Cap (-10% Pet Damage Taken / Pet: Regen)
Hands:
Spurrina Gages
Auspex Gages
Nares Cuffs
Adhara Gages
Nashira Gages
Carbuncle's Cuffs
*edit* those Beseiged Leviathan Perp gloves (Evoker's Gages?)
Legs:
Ngen Seraweels
Mystagog Slacks
Nares Trews
Magavan Slops
Feet:
Shedir Crackows
Adhara Crackows
Rubeus Boots
Morana's Pigaches
Earring:
Esper Earring
Waist:
Witful Belt
Summoning Belt
Cimmerian Sash
Mujin Obi
Caller's Sash
Ammo:
Esper Stone
Astral pot
On top of that, I want to fully upgrade my AF1 and AF2 sets to their final form as I have done with AF3
In other words... I aspire to be carrying around 79 pieces of gear total at all times. Perfect! I'll have exactly 1 space in my inventory for drops >_>
Such is the life of a competionist. TIME TO GET TO WORK!!!

*Clean out and organize my fucking Mog House
*Work on capping Summoning Magic Skill
*Work on +2ing more of my AF3 gear... specifically PUP+2 Feet (5/6)

Re: Post your FFXI goals of the week!
Goals for today/this week.
Amber farm with Squiggs. Get some more Glavs/Chloris fights out of the way.
Amber farm in Attowha as well. 29/50 Ulsh fangs. Pretty sure once I get 50, I’ll be more motivated to start then NMs trials
Finish WotG. I’m nearing the end of it.
Farm up a Moepapa Stone.
Try and find an armor set that is respectable for TPing as well as maximizes my pet’s performance.
Not sure how possible this is. Might be sacrificing too much

Re: Post your FFXI goals of the week!
Sell Sixth Virtue at a super low 1,500,000gil whenever I'm afk (I don't think wearing a suit and having the "Super Model" title is working)
Finish second limit break quest with the help of two linkshell friends.
Reach level 60 as Paladin
Do some Missions
Level Beastmaster job up some more.

Yeah, PayPal says its on SE's side. I guess I'll find out when their support opens up at noon (or more likely, many hours of runaround later).
