    get yourself one of those little panel things, that you sit a laptop on, that have fans build in them, and hold the system at a slight angle. Those do wonders.

      I have one of those. That one is for 17" laptops, there is also one for 15" or smaller. I do not recommend any of the Targus ones that best buy sells...I had two of them, and both were pretty garbage.

        Yeah, Graphics card problem if the game is launching and then crashing your 'puter after a random time period.

        Also Aks, I think that "infrared device causing a crash" is only when you use....*ahem*....another program in conjunction with FFXI. I could be wrong though ^^

          Laptops are a pain to clean out. your best bet is to get *something* that blows air (can of compressed air works wonders) and just use it to blast out the vents if you can't remove the panels where your vents are.

          If you can take off the vents then you can easily clean out all of the dust and lint; I use a soft paintbrush for this since I'm a student and they are considerably cheaper than cans of compressed air . That and for some idiotic reason you need to show ID to be able to BUY compressed air in the UK and I refuse to carry ID with me purely so I can buy something I will use once or twice every few months to clean out my computers and consoles.

          You need to show proof of age to buy a can of air in the UK yet I can buy a laptop battery and all of the components needed to make it explode (yes I do read xkcd) or buy the components nessecary to build a longbow or mix napalm without ID yet I can't buy a bloody can of air without proving that I'm 21...

            You apparently don't know why you need the ID then..... its because of the chemicals inside the can of air, its like buying paint, its an anti drug thing. People that don't carry an ID on them.... one of my major annoyances as someone who works part time at a GameStop -.-

              No, its a 'the UK's big brother mentality has long since got out of hand' thing.
