I agree, a lot can't be changed without major overhaul and/or uproar. But this thread isn't a "Let's send suggestions to SE" thing, it's just discussion on things we think would be kinda cool maybe. It's fun to talk about how some things might work, or might not. I don't think there's any harm in it.

Granted we bitch a lot about what SE does but as paying customers I think we have that right. Even though we know they're not listening. I think it brings a lot more flavor to the forum when people disagree, and we do so with civility so I don't see what the huge deal is.

And honestly, if people don't want to read bitching or crying posts, they should stay out of threads that say "What do you want to change?" or "What's your pet peeve?" Just saying. I loved playing this game for five years. There is a part of me that still wants to log in daily. I'm sure that will pass eventually. But just because I loved the game didn't mean I had to follow blindly and never express discontent with it. And this thread is nothing but speculation, fun, if you will. I don't see any real crying here. If you're talking about something in another thread, address it there. No need to turn this thread, which was interesting and had some great "what if" discussions, into a drama bitchfest.

The fact is, there's a lot that SE's done to the game that's painted them into a corner and if they made any number of the proposed changes here, they'd have more upset players than they would have happy ones.

Let's just take endgame in general as an example. They have to add WotG endgame content. In fact, they have to a certain degree already. There's already enough endgame content to fill up a week of playtime if you're crazy enough to do all of it (and some people are). If the endgame content added at the end of WotG is substantial, there's going to be a lot of interest and people will want to work it in. That's a good and a bad thing, really. Good for SE and those hardcore into the endgame grind, bad for anyone sane.

This is why they're making FFXIV, though - so they can have more design freedom and try new things.

That's right, the game is perfect the way it is. No one has any right to complain about things they dislike.

Yes, you're right, I could stop playing (I did) and stop paying them (I did). But that doesn't mean I can't say in theory what I'd like to see changed if I were able to do so.

That SE made it so your NPC just dissapeared if you got a Campaign tag and reapeared after you lost the tag with the remining time/kills.

No one is selling Bastore Sardines (None on Ah either), Crawler Culculus, or Cornettes (And Bastok is always in last so I cant buy from there.

Then go to Saruta and farm crawlers. They drop enough calculus that I just throw them away. Even better yet, level THF there if you haven't already. Once you hit level 15 and Treasure Hunter, sub it to whatever is your highest job and start mowing them down.

The main problem with them is that they don't stack, so you may want to set your HP in Windurst Woods. It's not far from the NPC.

At times you can buy some sardines off the guild merchant that's standing right there. You still have to zone between trades, either way.

Out of 6-7 hours... He only ever had 2 sardines... -.-;

But I finally got 3 fame and can finally start up drk again lol

Well, you could always go fishing ... a halcyon rod and sabiki rig should do very nicely for getting bastore sardines, just fish off the dock. Actually, cheaper options may be just as good, I don't know...

At times you can buy some sardines off the guild merchant that's standing right there. You still have to zone between trades, either way.

I cheated to raise fame for Aspir. I spent a few hours on the airship going back and forth dropping off the package to the passenger, it took a while but I made a few gil from it.

Fishing? Bleh. So boring. I fished for an hour straight and got no skill ups, and got crap. Its just not worth it IMO to fish. It also takes WAY to long to create a stack of any fish, and takes up too much inv IMO. I tried it once, and got bored of it. Fishing is the only thing that I would actually bot to level up (not saying I would bot though)

Windy fame is a huge bitch to get if you can't spam cornettes. When Bastok finally had first for a while (this was a few months ago) I spammed my mule to max fame that week. I did it the hard way on Aks and I wasn't going to go through that shit again.

Yea. I may just wait until bastok is in 2nd place, but then I'll be a gimp Drk... I don't like being gimp lol. I'm the person who always uses food, and tried to have updated gear, and spells/macros. I WONT be gimp on a job that can be cheap to level.

I did spend about 30k just trying to raise my fame too >.<

The key to fame is to not spam one quest, but to just go through your quest log. You'll be surprised how much fame, and appreciation for Vana'diel, you gain by just doing easy quests.

I wasn't really spamming the same quest over and over as I wasn't even able to. I went through and picked up a few quests, did them, checked fame, still level two. Do 5 more quests, check fame, still level 2. Do five more, check again.. STILL LEVEL 2 FAME!

Thats what pissed me off about it. I was playing for about 6-7 hour doing quests none stop, and nothing to show for it. I even did a few repeatable, and non repeatable quests. Then, in LS chat I'm having people telling me to do level 3 fame quests when I kept saying over and over that level 3 is what I need for the Aspir scroll.

I did the hat quest in windy, the bastore Sardine quest (with the 2 sardines that where in the Guild shop at that time, and never again, even in the Ah). I did the Silk thread one a few times, I did the Beehive chip one a few times, and so on, but nothing.

But hell. I have 7 fame in Sandy, and bostok. 4 fame in Norg. 5 fame in jeuno. 7 fame in Selbina... Shouldn't I atleast have 3 fame in Windy!?! -.-

(Not really aiming this at anyone, but its just... Gah!)
