thinking of playing again

So i use to play this game till i got my smn to lvl 37 and had all of the avatars and for some reason quit to play SWG and then WoW..now after quite a while im ready for the challenge again lol. but i dont want to do that whole fame grind for smn again. was just wondering what jobs make up a good tank and wat subs should i lvl. and fishing is still good money for starting out right . also what server has like a lot of people on it so i dont have a lot of wait time when it comes to parties? thanks for any feed back

Why not just use your old character? It's at least worth a try ... and it means no fame grinding. As for jobs, do what you like, but the "tank" jobs these days are PLD and NIN (other jobs can do so too with the right attitude, but those jobs are expected to by default).

fishing is good money from the get go, farming for silk off of crawlers around windurst still helps, and you can do the moss quest to selbina for bastok/sandy fame ^o^ it's not too horrible to get started in the game it's just after or around level 30 is when I start getting lost.... and I'm a little worried now that I can remember my original POL info after 4 years of un-use @.x;

well you could try calling POL if you still have the reg coes from your old copy. I think the return campain is still on so they could find it for you...

You'll still have plenty of wait time on a over-populated server (which there aren't really any), but you'll also have plenty more competition when farming, claiming, gathering, etc. Good times.

That applies if you cancelled your PoL account completely. If you just cancelled your content IDs for FFXI, then uninstalled everything, you have the option of still getting the old info back. Which is why we've been telling people just to cancel the IDs when they think they want to quit, so they don't screw themselves over completely if they change their minds later.
