    Re: FFXIWiki Disscusion Thread

How do I keep my posts out of wiki?

Don't care about random discussions, but since I wouldn't have the editing rights to the info posts I've spend days and weeks to organize if wiki-fied, I'd rather not see any of them in the wiki.

Thanks for the info on the status of wiki.

My complain is lack of info from the team; that has been remedied.

Don't want to go into why I declined, but since you brought it to public, I'll just say I had my reasons. Still do. (Oh, "take shots" isn't one of them, whether you believe it or not--I'm reflexively critical, that's all.)

    FFXIWiki Disscusion Thread

Since Ping has yet to fix permissions on the Wiki Discussion forum, this thread is going to be used as an informational and discussion thread.

    January 20th 2008
    * The Wiki is added to the site

    January 30th 2008
    * The Wiki team is finalized

    February 17th 2008
    * Most of the permissions are finalized

    February 22nd 2008
    * Wiki Team is given assignments to start the transfer of stickies to Wiki formatting

Basically we are still waiting on Ping to fix a good deal of problems to get the Wiki in full swing.

Edit: This Thread will be moved when pings fixes permissions.

Instead of worrying about some banner, how about solid, detailed info on the policy, goals, and rules regarding the use of the wiki? More information on the integration existing between the forum and wiki would be nice, too, as well as any future looking statements from admins/PiNG regarding that aspect.

It's been weeks, and yet no solid info--I've been checking the wiki daily as of late, but it doesn't have so much as an instructional "How to add a page" of a page in it, much less anything indicating of a plan to go from empty to useful. How long before we get info on what this system is capable of, and what are we allowed to do with it?

It's great you talk to PiNG; now, talk to us. Info, please.

You want detail, Ping doesn't want anyone editing the wiki but the team. Most people don't have permissions according to Ping, he wasn't even sure if the whole team had permisson to edit lol. Ping hasn't finished alot of the permissions in general so there is not much we can do, add in our work we haven't had a huge chunk of time to get everything sorted out. The goals have already been said that all of the stickies are going to made into wikis from the current site and the old site. The team and myself are starting to transfer stickies into pages starting this week, so there will be pages up shortly but please allow us some time to work.

I made a single post about a banner that has no effort used by myself but responding to your posts. You were offered a Wiki Team spot because I knew you would do the work, but you chose to decline it, and I hope that this is not so that you could sit back and take shots at the Team and Myself. Please feel free to voice any questions in a new thread.

We still have a front page and with ping mia we have no banner, so I figured "hey why not show off some of the talent on the site until ping has the time to make a banner". Ping and myself have gone over the entire wiki thing, myself bringing a great many of the ideas and directions to the project itself. There is alot of things that will be changing once ping has the time to use the admin account to create a few new toys.

There will also be a special page made for the old banner once, Ping has created his so that your work will always be apart of the Wiki, thank you to those who are taking the time to make a banner, and I hope I answered your questions IfritnoItazura.
